Front wheels are 17x8 and rears are 17x9.

All things considered, they're my personal favorite. I bought them 5 or 6 years ago from Speedware Motorsport in WA. I had them on my previous 968 but just couldn't let them go when I sold that car. Recently had them refinished by Wheel Techniques and bought new factory center caps. The only wheels that I like more are the factory Porsche Speedlines, but these are also Speedlines which is the next best thing, and tires are cheaper in 17" size than 18".

It just seems that there are more Red 968's than white & black combined.
Those Ruf wheels do look awsome though.

To be fair, all of the red 968s I've seen on craigslist and ebay have been a nice true red. My own car was getting pink but I fixed it.

The only single thing I don't like about red 968s is that they're the easiest ones to find. But still hard to find in the grand scheme, I guess.

Those lobster claw wheels on that red car look good to me. Again, one time I was staring at them and I "figured them out". They went from Fugly to cool. But... I don't know if I'd want to sport them, myself.

Smokiemon,

That purkle cab is sure an eye-turner. Since this is a 968 thread I won't show you the wheels that are on my 928S4but (hint) they're very much like the round lid on the street on the far side of this picture...only mine are chromed.

I found replica wheels at this site:

http://www.wheelsrims.net/porsche-968-inventory.html

Are they any good?

Also, what were the factory-recommended tire sizes for 17" rims?

Before buying replicas, I would check with Jeff at Sunset Imports and see what new OEM wheels would cost.

You don't like the lobster claws or the picture quality?

Ah, the ubiquitous manhole / sewer lid wheels. If you're looking to get rid of them, volkswagen owners go APE**** over chrome D90s and manholes. They refer to manholes as "porsche 7-slots".

Just in case any of you gents that have upgraded your wheels would like to sell a set of 4 of those OEM 16" 968 rims, I know a set of winter tires that are looking for a permanent home...
Sincerely,
