Happy B-day to me.
Happy B-day to me.
Let us not forget the incredible car that kept me alive.
Health update
I'm in lots of pain.
This is a good thing because the pain is localized in the nerves which have been numb for about 4 months. The top of the foot and the calf.
The other sorce of pain is the urethra.
This is bad. I visited my Urologist at UCSF and he said it was damaged from the pelvis. Apparently there is scarred tissue swelling up inside and it is blocking the flow. Operation is required and is scheduled sometime between the 3rd week in Dec to the 1st week of Jan.
Just when you think its safe to pee.

Update.
The surgury is set for Dec. 28th so I can be out by NewYears.
Unfortunatly they have to put both catheters back in.
After another month of no peeing hopefuly they can be removed permently.

I wish you the best during a difficult time. It sounds like you're getting good treatment and time will pass this stuff by before you know it. I just sent you an entertaining Porsche book and a copy of my favorite Porsche magazine with a good 968 article in it.
I also was just starting to learn how to **** again and on Monday the radiation treatment to the pelvis will probably start setting that all back to zero again. I'm hoping that I'll escape the catherter thing this time although it is nice to not have to get out of bed to take a leak. Also, I'm wondering if that might come in handy on a cannonball run?
It'll be good when we both recover and can take a good long and controlled pee. My goal is to be able to write my name in the snow and drive my P-car again (not at the same time). Sometimes the little things in life are very nice.
Take care and keep us posted.
Harvey

Wow, I was gone when this all happened and I'm seeing it for the first time. You are one blessed person after seeing those pics. Sorry to hear your rehab is having a few setbacks but your faith and positive attitude will pull you through. Hopefully you'll be back in the drivers seat before long.
Happy belated B-Day

Just read the post and WOW- I am so very happy you were able to survive. God most certainly was with you. You are still here, now it's up to you, so....what you do with the rest of your life. It most certainly was not your time.
I wish you speedy recovery and Happy Birthday.
H2- I hope you kick (I'm assuming) cancer's *** also and get well.
Let's all be thankful for our own good health- Regards, Mike

Kinda bad news today.
A foot specialist I saw today doesn't think I'm going to regain the ability to lift my foot.
This means no driving with my right foot.
I'm going to just ignor him and keep working at it with physical therapy.

Good for you. Make that "specialist" eat his words. Keep the faith!

Let's Cheer Up Lord_Galva
P-car friends,
A fellow Rennlister, Lord_Galva, was in a serious accident and absolutely demolished his Porsche (fotos attached). Sustaining serious injuries he was recently released from the hospital and now will have to go back in again for an unknown period of additional reconstructive work and therapy. A driving goal for him is to recover enough to buy and drive a P-car again. The thread with more information on the accident and his condition is at https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...90#post4841190 “I lost my 968”.
Because his address is changing and because of his condition, I’ve volunteered to collect and forward reading materials to him during his recuperation. He loves Porsches and car-related books and magazines. If you would like to put some cheer into the life of fellow Porsche Lover who will likely be hospitalized during the upcoming holidays, you may send materials to me at the following address and I will box them and ship them to him (credit for your donation will be given as you specify):
Harvey Hughett
526 Yale Avenue North
Apt. 103, Union Bay Apts.
Seattle, WA 98109
Or email me at hhughett@hotmail AT .com for additional information or you may wish to contact him directly through Rennlist email (Lord_Galva). I'm not sure what his access to a computer will be during his hospitalizion.
I am not related to this young man and have never met him but when you read his Rennlist posts, you'll know that he's top notch. Plus, a look at his mangled car and you'll know that he has to have an angel riding on his shoulder.
Thank you,
Harvey

You are alive for a very good reason. I've been through similar in other ways, where I should have been dead absolutely and without a doubt, and yet I somehow survived. I too believe firmly in God, and I have seen His work. This, IMHO, is nothing but God's work. You CANNOT have survived this crash, yet here you are. Find your purpose.
