Uh, Chris, I and most people have the ability to perceive reality. What we don't need is your rubbing salt on the wound.

I agree with Smokiemon, it's nobody's business. If certain individuals feel they deserve to know anything in particular then they can ask in private. After all... this is a technical forum.

Last chance to step up, sir.

Why would you do this?
It is not our business.
It could jeopardize his legal defense, as this is a public forum.
And he is INNOCENT until proven otherwise.
I find this to be distasteful behavior from a moderator.

And he is INNOCENT until proven otherwise.
I'm not addressing Richards guilt or innocence here. Don't know, don't care.

But that phrase drives me nuts. People are not innocent until proven guilty. If they did it they are guilty, and if they didn't do it, they are innocent.

"Guilty until proven innocent" refers to the system of JurisPrudence we operate under in this country, and the requirement for the government to prove a person is guilty, in a court of law, as opposed to a citizen having to prove he is innocent.

If we're talking about a transgression, and the person did it, he is guilty, period, whether we know he is or not. If he didn't do it, he is innocent, period, whether we know it or not.

Thanks, I just needed to get that off my chest.

Man, you should be a prosecutor or a judge.
Thats a great attitude.

OK, here's the thing -

I, and many others, have been exuberantly celebrating your survival from a close brush with death.

Had we known that there was a passenger in the car who was killed in the accident, I think our celebrating would have been tempered with a somber respect for the deceased.

By not disclosing that someone else died in this incident, I, for one, now feel somewhat remorseful in failing to give proper respects to the man who died that night.

I imagine that you should be feeling the same, Richard, however there appears to be no outward indication of that in any of your posts here.

There you have it.

You have GOT to be F&*^ing kidding me! Someone died in this?
After all of the sympathy that has been sincerely poured out to this guy, he wasn't man enough to tell us the truth?
This guy is having celebrations while his passenger is dead?
The DA doesn't just offer a year in jail for an accident either.
Whether or not you come clean about this or not, you've shown yourself for the irresponsible and inexcusable coward that you evidently are.
How DARE you leave out such a vital detail while trolling for sympathy.
This is simply the most disgusting thread I've ever encountered on Rennlist.

I hope you enjoyed your celebration. I'm sure your dead passenger had a blast!

All I can say is this is truly horrible, I have followed this thread for months and had no idea that someone was killed in the accident. That is an important detail to have been overlooked.

Richard had many opportunities to get the facts out, such as:

Reading that he was traveling 'at a high rate of speed' makes it worse, in my mind-all those hints about an animal/suspension damage apparently belay the facts.
