Default Gunk in intake ports and manifold, how to clean?

I got the head machined, and they kindly washed the whole thing for me, so the junk in the intake ports is gone. However, the intake manifold itself has considerable gunk. Right at the end of the runners, there is a coating of gunk (oily greasy black junk) about 1 or 2 mm thick. I can clearly see this coating goes deep into the manifold, into all the intricate plumbing and crevices I can't reach with a rag or toothbrush.

How do I clean it? Is there a place I can take it to, where they clean complex intake manifolds? I hope so! I'd rather not have to fill a trash can with gasoline and submerge my manifold over night.

There's no smiley for an explosion, but imagine that I put one here.

Carb cleaner will do wonders to it. Best bet is to take it to a place that has parts cleaner and they should be able to get it cleaned.

OK, I'll try the local performance machine shop. Someone else suggested a radiator shop to me so I'll try that second.

I tried every radiator shop in San Francisco, and even one in Daly City. There is only one that will wash this manifold, and they wanted $110, and said it would take 4 days. HA! I guess I'll just do it myself. It's not really the price that scared me off, it's the time needed. I'm sure I can clean it OK in about 2 hours.

While you have it off why not have it Extrude Honed and gasket matched.

The intake ports in our cars are too big to begin within. Last thing one should do is increase their size. You would only reduce velocity.

Extrude Honing doesnt increase the size,it smoothes out the runners.

And how would you gasket match the port? Would that not increase the size of the port? I am familiar with extrude hone and have run those intakes on my turbo cars.
