Not for the faint hearted
Definatly a sad ending for the 968's. The Ferrari got is ticket to Hell where it belongs. Apparently the F430's have issues with engine fires, this was the third to catch fire. Personaly I would set mine on fire if I had the money to spare. Muhahahaha.

You know, it's interesting when you see the ones that have flipped over, and you can get a great feel for how aerodynamic the undertray of the car is....
Not bad for early 90s design. As always, Porsche leads the field; only recently are we seeing the rest of the 'normal' sports cars (and I would classify the 968 as a normal car versus the Ferrari F40s, Bugatti EB110s, and Jaguar XJ220s of the time) that are starting to be designed with aerodynamic bellies in mind.
But what do you expect? Dr. Porsche produced an AWD, electric car back in the mid 1920s... bit of a trend-setter he was (even if it did take 7 or so DECADES for the rest of the world to catch up!).
I've looked and looked, but cannot find a car manufacturer that comes remotely close to the DEEP history of innovation, inspiration, and success (especially on the racetrack) that Porsche and its founder have experienced over its lifetime.
Porsche... there is NO substitute!

Talking about faint hearted.....
Here are a few cars I'm glad I wasn't in....
BTW, the two red 928s belonged to friends of mine. First was 90mph (too fast) into a turn at Spokane, WA track. Second was a broken fuel hose on a SuperCharged engine. Details...details...gotta watch those hoses. Don't know what set the 911 off...most likely a bad gas hose too.
