Default Got my first 968

Hi guys, I just got my first 968 yesterday (actually I just made a deposit, I'll be picking it up sometimes next week). It's a 93 cobalt blue with tan interior, pretty good shape, some things may need attention, but at least I got a amazing deal. I just sold my 99 M3 and I thought Porsche would be the next path for me. I will post pictures as soon as I will have access.

Congratulations and welcome to the club! Where are you located? You may be near other 968 owners.

Welcome to the boards! There are plenty of great resources for the 968 not to mention a strong community online. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

Thanks josephsc and flwbyu for the kind words. Meanwhile I'd like to know where is the best place to look for some parts that my newly bought car needs (at least the ones I know about). On the list are : power steering pump + fluid tank (works good but leaks), shocks all around (anyone knows the best choice ?) and rear wiper motor. TIA

Just out of curiosity, did you test drive your 968? If so, how did it compare to the M3? Going from a newer M3 to a 968 might be considered a step backward by many - other than the cache value you get from the name plate.

The power steering leak is probably just the hose/clamp and if it's been leaking you need look at the bushing on that side.

Congratulations.

Yes, I did test drive the 968, and compared to the M3 it felt slower and suspension less stiffer, but I was expecting all that. I know it is a step down, but at least I have some money left for my investment, and still get to drive home in a nice porsche.

Cervi,
The car looks great and welcome to the 68 club, That price (from what I've seen/paid) seems like a steal , of course that all depends on miles and problems; then again at that price you could put alot into it and still come out ahead.

Thanks guys,
Yea, i think i got a good deal too, although the car needs new front shocks, power steering pump, rear wiper motor and a headlight. Also it has a few dings here and there, not too big of a deal. It has 123,xxx miles, the engine sounds and pulls strong, shifts smoothly (I do, but she lets it into gear very easy). I'm still searching for the damn wiper motor and steering pump, can't seem to find them anywhere...

Yup, that's SOOOO much easier to do when you start with a bargain price

Cervi - 123k miles... she's still young. Really, congrats on the purchase. Take your time and it will all come together.

Man, I still love that color!
