WTB 968 Lower Balance Shaft Gear Carrier
Desperately need a Gear Carrier for the Lower Balance Shaft on 968
Part no. 944 101 042 03
This is the part that the balance belt rollers fit to and the Hydraulic belt tensioner pivots from. Anyone maybe have one from a dead engine ?
Help please, or my newly modded engine will never get to draw air !

Hey Mike,
I have a perfect low mileage and Re-sealed set of Balance shaft everything!
Currently removing parts for Race Engine Prep.
What's a Gear Carrier? Picture or part number, we can save your baby.
Let me know. I'll let it go at a very good price.

here is the part I'm after. This is my 951 item, I need a 968 one.
I'm hoping that it is different, expecting to see an extra tapped lug on the RHS of the 968 item, otherwise I have no idea how the cambelt hydraulic tensioner arm mounts !
Any pictures of your item would be greatly appreciated - similar view as this.
Also if you have on-engine closeup pics of the tensioner mounting point.
cheers

I will look at mine and let you know. i bought one of those and now do not need it. Take a pic of your timing set up and post it. i will look at my 3.0 motor cause it happens to be veasily viewable now.

968turbos2: I am only assuming the balance shaft bearing housing carries the tensioner arm pivot. What I really need i guess is a close up, head-on pic of the pivot point. Can't post pics as it's still being assembled, no belts or rollers fitted yet. Any pics much appreciated.
This is a new block for my 951 so i'm in unknown waters here.

okay i am now about to go take a pic but one thing i thought i would mention is that the hydraulic tensioner for the cam belt is behind the balance shaft belt under the water pump but if you are looking at an installed engine it looks as if it is to the right of it (angle of block) I'll go get a hi-res photo and post it
