Are you getting 12 volts on the plug?

There is a plug on top of the valve cover which plugs into the variocam unit. Its pretty much in the middle of the valve cover. Make sure its plugged in. What makes you think your variocam does not work?

There is a plug on the back of the valve cover, looks like a 1" round trailer plug. #'s 5,6,7,1 across the top with female connectors and 4,3,2 across the bottom. Male connectors.
What does this plug do ?
Thanks

No, this is a rectangular plug. I hope someone with a 968 can post a picture to show you the plug. This plug is part of the engine harness and plugs into the solenoid that sticks out of the middle of the valve cover.
