Default Cargraphic cat and exhaust in

Picked up and installed the Cargraphic exhaust and 100 cell cat today. By my bathroom scale the units totaled 40 lbs, opposed to the 55 on the stock system. The difference was much less than I thought it would be, but I only had anecdotal information before-at least we know now.

Sounds great, nice burble and all, not ricey. I haven't driven it since I got it home, lugging around the old system in the passenger seat. Absolutely no problems on the install, bolted up like it was oem. I'm still on the fence whether to dyno it tomorrow, since I'll be having it dyno tuned in the coming weeks elsewhere-wasted money for me.

Hi Damian,

Well, I guess I'll have a listen to that new exhaust saturday morning. The 968 still hasn't been picked up by the carrier - Intercity Lines. Their price was okay, but I don't like being misled. I was initially told that they would have the car on its way to NY by wednesday (viz., yesterday). Today I received an e-mail from Isringhausen, where the car is coming from, that Intercity called there and said they'd be picking up the car "middle of next week"!

So long as I have to wait until next week, I may cancel Intercity and elect to go with another carrier. It's not like I'm walking or anything like that, but I want the car already.

Richard

P.S.: Any luck posting those pix here? R.

I drove his car with the new exhaust and I can attest that the sound is nice and deep. It is very very expensive though and I can't imagine another person opnying up this kind of money. Very nicely done though, as good as stock.

Damian,

I am really interested in the dyno pull. Does it feel any more powerful ?

The *** dyno feels like its giving more oomph, but I don't trust that! If I decide to do a direct comparison I'll post the difference, but there's almost no way the gain would offset the cost.

The quicker acceleration you feel may just be attributed to a lighter wallet.

Just kidding, that exhaust must be very very nice!!! I'm impressed that it bolted up like a stock system, that's when you know you got good stuff.

Is there any resonance? More details on how good it sounds?

Trev, no resonance-the car sounds like it's got something under the hood! It's only slightly noticeable at idle, but when you get on it it makes a nice growl.

Smuck, we've going ahead with the rear caliper swaps-Raj is picking up cores, and we've got a vendor to do the job.

I've had their exhaust tip on both my 968's, that's the only thing you can see without crawling under the car. The tip is larger in both dimensions. It's quite similar to the stock unit, except its all shiny 304 stainless steel and the cat is smaller. In the other Cargraphic post there is a picture of the system components taken from the catalog.

Ah ok.. i didn't realize it was largely the same on the outside. The only Cargraphic tips i've ever seen are the ones for the Cayanne and 996's that i see in GT Purely Porsche.
