Default My 92 is now a parts donor...

for my 93.

Through a series of unfortunate circumstances my 1992 968 has been sitting and deteriorating. I decided to use it as a parts donor for another 968. So I recently purchased a 1993 968 coupe. Here are the specs:
  • 111000 miles
  • One owner car
  • Black with gray interior
  • 16" cup 1 wheels, Hankook tires with only 400 miles (I think I'll get 17" cup 2's)
  • Complete service history with all major items addressed
  • Tiptronic (I'm in the minority as I prefer tips)
  • Luggage cover
  • Complete engine bay trim
  • Complete tool bag
Reviewing the service history shows that the car has been very well maintained with no rust, no leaks, and no mods. As with any 30 year old car there are some things that I'll address: such as small dents, window tint, and that horrible JVC radio.

Glad to be back in the 968 fold and I'll provide updates on my new 93. Now if I can find a write up on the 968 stereo system...

Cheers!

Good luck with the 93. It looks like a good candidate. If you could send me the last 3 digits of the 92's VIN I'll mark it as dead in the register database. Thx

Cool! What parts do you need from the donor car?

Vultures...all of us.... what might be scavenged from the newly christened donation car?

Seriously though. Are there any body panels worth saving, specifically rocker panels?

Nice '93, congrats! You'll probably not be able to sell the 16" wheels or tires for much. So I think try to use them until you need new tires. When switching, I think most of us agree the 17" Cup1s are the way to go. Probably twice as expensive as Cup2s though. When you need new floor mats I think I'd go with a darker gray.

Thanks for the interest in my 92. I'm still deciding what I'll keep for my 93 and what I'll let go. I'll let everyone know when I start getting rid of items.
