Default Help with Interior (seat) color - Light or Classic Gray?

I am going to order new covers for my 1993 968 and need help determining the color I should order (I think I'll just do GAHH covers).

I have the Porsche Production Specification which shows for Interior Material Color/Code "Light Grey/Classic Grey Partial Leather/TU", but I'm not sure how to decode this.

Are my seats "Classic Grey Partial Leather/TU" ? I would like to keep it to the light gray color to (approx) match the door handles/bottom cards/etc.'

Pictures below - note that I have recovered/repainted/dyed the door card tops and dash black since the "gray" color (which was darker than the seat or bottom door card color) was faded/bleached/cracked. And I like the contrast of the black with the lighter color. The rear "seat" backs are still close to the color of the dash I think. Those will be dyed/painted next to black.

I have 2 CG interior cars and another with what I believe to be light grey and IMO your seats are not CG

You definitely want light grey. For 92-93 the light grey interiors were offered with another contrasting color. You could get black, classic grey, magenta, and cobalt.

See the interior pages on the register website for more info on the codes and varieties as well as pictures.

Your covers look to be in pretty good shape. I would think just a proper cleaning and some new moisturising treatment and you should be good to go...

I've gone the route of steam cleaning and soaking with conditioner/sunning; and while cleaner, there are now two 5" long tears/cracks the driver's bolster. Plus, they stick out like a sore thumb compared to the recovered dash now. So off they come.

I know it's lost money - but I consider the improvements on this car entertainment and not investment. Most of my weekends are spent finishing one project and then deciding what to improve next.....

I'm sure the next owner (in the hopeful distant future) will think I was crazy when they look at my receipts.

I think your seats are light grey. Here’s my CG in the brightest sunlight I’ve got.

If you keep dying/modding, here's what it would look like if you darken your carpet. My carpet is actually midnight blue or whatever code that called it. And check out what it would it would look like with seat piping (my piping is black).

Thanks @Eyeman. My carpets (under the newly purchased black floormats) have a lovely tan stain from what I presume were failed floor mats before.

not sure how to dye the carpets black without removing - but that would be a helpful mod as well. the good news is my carpet is not terribly worn.

What product did you use to dye your dash and door cards? How is it holding up?

I cleaned and then used SEM vinyl prep and SEM color coat paint. Made all the trim look nearly new (including the sunshades and door tops).

Only had it on for a few months but it still looks perfect.

I used satin black which I like a lot. Don’t know how lighter colors would work .

Your car has the factory deviated carpet option which is often seen on the light grey interior cars sense the carpet is so light. You can usually spot the deviated as the deviated color is extended to the carpet on the door panels as well.
