Default Painting headlight rings

Both the headlight trim rings on my 92 coupe were broken—part 944-750-151-00, the lower half.

Ordered new... they came in a primed white. Thought I might spray them myself and took a look at paintscratch.com — where you can order spray can kits for painting bumpers and plastic. But the kit comes with special primers and such.

I'm in over my head... thought I would reach out to the group for pointers before I undertake this small project.

Thanks!

When I go the web-site all I see are generic colors, nothing Porsche specific. I believe that your Classic P-Car dealer can get you spray cans of the proper P-car paint. Otherwise go to a good body shop. They should be able to paint the pieces pretty cheaply.

With the correct Porsche colour code a reputable paint dealer will be able to mix up the right paint and provide an aerosol version if you requested it.

These guys sell kits with primer, base coat, cleat coat etc... I have never bought from them but have contemplated several times to paint the spoiler. They dont list all the colors by model and year correctly but did notice if you search your paint code it does come up.

According to Jeffs website there is a Sales Code of N7 and a Paint Code of L39A. Is this what your referring.... I would use the L39A on searches on the paint companies site.

. Gotcha. I was just curious because there was 2 of that and not the rest. I didn't even go to my car to see the paint code because it was just weird to me. Also could have been some crazy variation change during the year by Porsche for all I knew. LOL. 39a and 37z on that paint sheet.

I've ordered numerous rattle cans from Paint Scratch for comparison purposes. I think the product is top notch (albeit a little pricey). I wouldn't hesitate one moment in ordering and trying it out on a test piece. Given the limited UV exposure of the items you're painting compared to the rest of the body, there may be a slight difference in appearance.

Just discovered mine were broken as well, on both sides, while attempting to figure out why my right light won't go down on its own. Ordered both top and bottom for both. Geeze, those are pricey.

My passenger side headlight also does not go down. Then I hit a small bump and it does.
I assumed that when that headlight got a pebble dimple it knocked everything just a little out of alignment?
Now one more thing to check!
