Songzzz,

Does that mean you have decided to run non-porsche rods in your 3.0? I am still trying to decide if Carrillo or Pauter are worth the extra $1k, particularly since so many people make mid 300rwhp on (cheap) 951 forged rods.

Songzzz you could try Porschapart in the UK, they have some 968s stripped at the moment.

Tom> I was planning of using the 951 forged rods but since there is an offer for my 951 short block, I am going to use Carillos.

Mike> Tks!

Might as well knife edge that crank...so long as you're in there.

Jason, in a case like your car I can see the advantage of doing knife edge where you want maximum gains and minimum losses for the track. I am not fully convinced that it is required or recommended on a street car. Too much weight loss on the crank or reciprocating masses makes the car very hard to drive or get off the line. Knife edging offers minimum windage losses and foaming in the sump which is not really an issue for the street.
I guess you are getting your crank knife edged . Do you know much weight they will be taking off? Mine is just crossdrilled for better oil circulation. I should save enough weight (atleast $20lbs) by running a different flywheel so thats where I will find my savings .
Regards.

I'm looking for 968 door panels as well, preferably black. So if there's a second set out there someone can point me to...

Raj,

Unfortunately they didn't weigh the crank before they sent it out...Sheesh!

I also had it drilled as you.

My flywheel will be the standard, so you're probably going to spool up quicker than me...you dog!
