That's light grey interior with the seat side piping option. Haven't seen the side piping in anything but black before this car. Very nice!

Cruise Control cable is not in it's proper place.

Also, that sticker - what's up with that? Looks all shriveled and faded...

Regardless, a nice example of a 92 (not an early model - no recessed hood badge).

Love the script door panels and seats. Radio looks period but not correct. Makes this low mileage example look like a bargain at 1/3 the price https://www.pca.org/classified-ad/336430

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing it. Some misinformation in the write-up - "only 2,234 coupes were built"

UPDATE: Information now corrected thanks to Eugene @ Sotheby's

Im not sure I get the point of these low mileage cars other than as a rather pointless collection pursuit for those who look at them or show them off rather than drive them. To do that seems to completely miss the point of ownership of such a machine. Drive it significantly and you wipe the value. My own Porsche interest is in driving the car, not looking at it or showing it off to others. Who are the collectors of these cars, the rich and the bored? Those seeking some reflected glory from ownership rather than actual use? If you want to drive the car then a slightly tired example like my 968 with 20-30k ish spent on it would give reliable and useable mechanical perfection, I know what my choice would be if I had money to throw at Porsche ownership,

Different strokes for different folks!

if I recall correctly, this car was listed in the 40’s a couple of years ago.

There's a shoe for every foot. The only defense I can offer for low mile cars is at some point in the life(+10 years?), one recognizes that they have a distinct "low mileage" example, and stop driving it entirely. I am not interested in buying it, which is what I said in the OP. It's a trailer/garage queen but I'm betting that it will bring close to the estimate due to it being quite old, but still quite young in miles. All it can do is benefit the marque, so I'll be glad if it goes over $50k.

Wheel and dash are just a bit to much purple for me....

The look on the guys face at cars and coffee who bought a 400 horsepower Ferrari 360 Modena for 70 grand when you tell him you just spent $70 grand on a 968.

$70k, early 90s Porsche 968 or, brand new, nicely optioned Corvette C8 mid engine. 0-60 in 3 sec, 1.03 lateral G, top speed 194. Gulp...

I'd love to own a very low mileage car like this. I paid $38,500 for my 11k miles Cab in 1995, so with inflation this car would cost less. Realistically you could think that way and just drive the wheels off this one if you wanted. Not that I'd do that or expect anyone else to do that.

Now where it starts getting crazy to me is the $317,000 Datsun 240Z that sold on BAT recently. You figure that car was around $3170 when new.

I agree with Yogi, the Porsche colored dashes and steering wheels are often not my favorites.

I can see your “benefit the marque” point for sure. The 968 is often unknown even by other 911 series Porsche owners. Undervalued by the wider world really. So a little publicity does it no harm I guess, unless you feel that increasing prices are a bad thing.
