Default Year Changes?...

Evening there,

I've been looking at various sites and it seems like the 968 did not change over the years excepting the LSD option in 1993 was it? My question is: What changed from what year to year, if anything?

Best wishes and thanks,
Sach

Starting in '93, the LSD option went to Torsen, with ZF no longer available.

Don't know too much about other stuff.

..actually a pretty long list somewhere in the early 1994 model run.
HiFi stereo option 490 is different, pollen filters, underhood plastic 'glove box' thingie, interior seat patterns changed to 993-style, available colors changed (some) and a few other really obscure things mentioned in the MY1994 supplement that I don't have in front of me at the moment.
regards

Nothing noteworthy mechanically or cosmetically speaking though?

Thanks,
Sach

Early exhaust tips were nicely rolled, later ones straight cut. Early early cars had inset hood badges and straight cut rear number emblems. Optional 17" wheels changed over to Cup 2 style. Later cars had water based paints. A/C refridgerant and compressor changed to newer coolent.

Nothing big, body panels didn't change, interior stayed the same (except seat stitching), with the volumes manufactured it didn't warrent any significant changes.

Europe got a couple of cheaper models (CS & Sport) to shift some volume, but that's about all.

I think, MY 94 and later had standard 16" wheels that were narrower and more rounded. Wheel locks were the special bolt-type rather than keyed.

Standard wheels remained unchanged (16"), 17" optional wheels changed in style.

What isn't made quite clear above is that the plastic trim at the front and rear of the engine compartment (the front piece was the 'underhood plastic 'glove box' thingie') were deleted in 1994.

So the earliest 17' wheels were of this design? I'd love to get a clean set.

John, from what I've seen it's harder to find 968 17" Cup 1's than 17" Cup 2's. (964 and 993 sizes are readily available, but the fronts are 7" instead of 7.5"). Raj had a nice set, he sold them to Clem-I should've taken them myself!

Damian, don't remind me about it . I will find another set someday and then I will be able to compare which one looks better in person. I am very happy with my current 17s with what I did with them.

Raj,
"I miss my car"

Did you get rid of your car?

Yikes!
