Thumbs up REAL aftermarket exhaust system

Check this baby out:

http://www.cargraphic.de/en/porsche/...lagen/p44.html

It looks nice...too bad it's SO EXPENSIVE!!

I usually follow the the Ferrari boards and some of the 550 guys say Cargraphic is the best system out there. We're talking better than FERRARI and Tubi. Is there a US supplier for this stuff?

Oh I WISH there was some way to get a sound clip for it. I want my 968 to sound like a 355.

What's weird is the labels seem to be switched. The S2 system looks like it should be the 968 system...and vice-versa.

Trevor, I think Damian has a contact here in US who is a Cargraphic reseller. Maybe when he reads this, he will shed some light.

This would be the exhaust I would buy!!! Even if it didn't add any power Do you guys have any "guesstimate" of what this Cargraphic exhaust would cost? $1500? Group buy?

Cargraphic USA is about a half hour away, and I've been down there a couple of times to buy exhaust tips (twice) and a strut tower brace. Real nice people, Hersh and his wife (major babe). The only issue I've had really isn't their fault-I've wanted things like dyno results from their ECU, and weight and dyno results from their high flow cat/exhaust, and they've never been able to get me the info because they can't get it from Germany for some reason.

When their strut tower brace dented my hood they made good on the repair, and they'll usually take a small discount for PCA members too.

For anyone looking for a nice cosmetic upgrade their bolt on exhaust tip is aces. It fills in the bumper opening perfectly, and looks better than the b&b tip. Doesn't do anything for the sound, alas.

The only 968 I had the opportunity to drive has this Car Graphic line fitted (and the Motronic too).
It sounds good

So is it as simple as calling them for a cat back system quote? A group deal would most likely attain a lower price......

Kev, I wouldn't be able to join in until late spring-I just dropped over 3K on the new wheels and tires. Next mod up will be Big Reds, so this mod would have to wait. And if I'd do it I'd want their high flow cat too, that's the only way to get a performance advantage (if indeed it does anything).

It's pretty obvious that the part numbers and prices for these systems are reveresed. I priced the stuff out on their site to make it more clear [all prices in Euro inc VAT].

944 S2-
Cat: 1038.20
Resonator: 261.00
Muffler: 522.00
Cat: 1038.20
Tip: 174.00
ECU: 742.40
Filter: 87.00

968-
Cat: 1038.20
Resonator: 377.00
Muffler: 690.20
Tip: 203.00
ECU: 742.40
Filter: 87.00

I can see why the cat is more expensive than the rest...the collector has some crazy bends coming off of the header. Personally I'd get the resonator and muffler sections and use my factory exhaust tip [stealth bomber look, ya know].

I'm not decided on this system YET, though it does look very nice. I need a complete exhaust anyway so this is tempting. I should know in about a month if I am serious about the system.

Perhaps Damian can work his local supplier into getting some 968 goodies in and TESTING before/after. Let them pay for shipping and if the results are good maybe Damian can keep the goodies...it would also be cool if everyone would chip in toward testing [exhaust system, ECU, whatever gets tried] if folks are interested to see if they're any good. We could all check out Damian's car at Hershey to see if we like the sound.

BUT...Damian would have to do before/after dynos on A REAL DYNO this time. A Dynojet! I'm not rushing or strong-arming anyone...just making suggestions to benefit everyone. The information is more important to me than personal desire. I'd like to know what you think - we're a community afterall and this information doesn't seem to come easy.

Trev, I'll talk to them next week about some ideas along this line. Maybe they'd give me one at cost if I'd do before and after dyno pulls and we could compare system weights as well-how we would spread around these costs would be something to discuss. Unfortunately, many of the guys who would normally be interested have already upgraded their motors with forced induction and can't use this exhaust anyway. And lot's of guys have already had Eric S help them out with a b&b group buy some time back.

And for sure a Dyno jet 248!

Cool Damian...I could pitch you a couple hundred bucks to help out. No big deal.

I'd like to see a B&B vs. Cargraphic SHOOT-OUT @ Hershey!!

Two 968's with butts pointed at people in the parking lot...

"Car #1, start your engine" Pop, rumble...rumble...
"Now rev your engine!" Vrooooom...5k < SCREAM...!
"WOT in second gear down the street" Bark and faint howl in the distance.

"Car #2...same thing"

...and the next sound would be the wail of sirens....the Cartgraphics is way too rich for me- guess it is a B&B or some Flowmaster plugin.

Trev, let me know if you are in need of an exhaust. I can get you a complete setup. As a matter of fact, Jason is selling one and his price is very very fair. Ofcourse, I have one for you as well.
Damian, let me know when you go there. I wanna check the babe out!

If one were to drop a 951 engine into a 968, or do as you have done Raj, would the 951 exhaust system bolt in, or what sections would you need to change?

Thanks,
Sach

You might have different mounts, but most of the exhaust mounts are on the torque tube and can be moved.
