Well, finally the weather picked up in the UK, and my auto electrician was free.
We have removed the immobiliser, checked the EZ, all seemed good, although we didn't have a great knowledge of it.
But, we only had 26 ohms where we should have 960 ohms on the crank sensor?

Yes.
If you are doing the work yourself it's easier to buy a used sensor but risky in that it might not function or the connector may already be disintegrating.
You could buy a new sensor from the factory but the harness end will need to have a modern DIN standard plug fitted to it. Here it is in the Pelicanparts catalog:

You would also need to buy the electrical blades that go into the housing. The part number is 999-652-811-40 (3 required).
