I would love to do that, I have no experience in that field.

^^Agreed...I'm having an older car restored and the paint side is costing me (with much negotiation) closer to 10k

Unfortunately a good to excellent full repaint(bumpers/glass out) in the Norteast area is the price of an entry level car at most shops. The reason most shops overcharge is that most don't want to do the job. It's a lot more profitable to do accident repairs than to tear apart, paint and put back together one car. Specialty brand repair shops are becoming nonexistent, most are fender bender shops.

This is one area that takes a lot of research, in the hopes of finding the right person willing to do it with enough passion to do it right at a fair price. When I had my 3.6t back in 08 I inquired about this, as I had some road chips. I was told by a few shops......job starts at $10k and this was on a car with no accident damage, dings or dents. Maybe is the Porsche surcharge that happens so frequently in the Northeast..lol

Prices for re-painting are all over the map, depending on factors such as how extensive is the paint job (bare metal respray vs. scuff, prime and top coat), damage uncovered, known damage being repaired, who is doing the work (shop vs independent) and owner involvement (trim dis-assembly/re-assembly, paint stripping). Labor rates vary depending on area of the U.S. where the work is being performed and then there are the waste disposal laws, which are the most onerous out west.
Paint material will be in the neighborhood of $1000-1500.

Day 1

Got some new oem parts, they've removed the side sills front and rear bumpers. The rear wing lid has been removed.

I am going to install oem exhaust tips "black".

Tomorrow the front and rear windows will be removed.

Other oem parts I am going to install are new front splitter for the front bumper as well as the usual new rubber seals etc.

I currently have H&R lowering springs with oem shocks ? I would like a stiffer ride still not sure which direction I should head with this.

My 993 TT is midnight blue and has a scratch that you can feel with your finger nail and a few small chips. I keep watching this video to see if I can get the courage to try it, of course on my girlfriend's car first. What do you think about this technique?

It is, so the technique will not work on a 993
