most aggressive wheel width/offset?
Sorry but I'm fairly new to 964s to apologies for the stupid question....
...but what is the widest wheels/tires and most aggressive offsets that you can run on a widebody 964 with the fenders rolled?

Thatcher, what you do not know is the 965 Turbo uses unique trailing arms that widen the track. If you used regular 964 trailing arms like the factory did on 964 RSR then an 11" wheel fits very nicely.

The factory rears are 10" ET 61 for the '94 model. I am currently running 10" ET 40s on the rear (993 widebody turbo twists) with 265 rear tires. So there's DEFINITELY some room to run wider wheel, AT LEAST 10.5" without any modifications - probably even 11s with the correct offset.

Jim - I understand about there not being much room for a wide inner barrel, but I just think it is easily do-able to run wider outers than most people run. a bit of negative camber and the correct tire/suspension combo goes a long way

To those who doubt my offset numbers and widths. Go ahead and give it a shot. See what happens. The rear trailing arms will not allow anything larger than a 10 in wheel especially if you are running a 295 rear tire. 10mm more offset than stock is the best you can do. This has to be in the outer barrel. There in no room on the inside.
If you run stock HP you can change to the NA trailing arms and yes you can run 11" rears with ease. Also the modification in not cheap and is hardly worth the expense for what you gain.

How low is your car? Mine is very low and a 40 offset would never clear.
If you look at my avatar, I am running a 50 offest and I am flush with the fender.

This is true but your gains will be modest at best. As many know my car is modified beyond belief and I have tried every way to max out the offsets/wheel widths with not much success.

I think there is definitely room for another .5 inch (10.5s) in the rear with the correct offset, say ET 56.

I bought a set of 3.6 Turbo wheels that were 10.5" they were 8.5" inner rims and 2" outer. To make this wheel fit the owner used a 7mm spacer on the rear so the inner rim did not touch the oil lines. These were not stock Speedline wheel sizes. I have built sets with a 2.25" outer rim which would when used with the stock 8" inner make a 10.5" wheel. I do not have a turbo, but know what Speedline built, what size RH wheels work and what I have actually built for my Rennlist friends. I am not meaning to be argumentative. I would think the rear trailing arms off a NA body car would not be all that expensive used, but yes would be some work, but it is what the factory did. Based on those trailing arms I think easily a 11.5 or a 12" could be built and work. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim
