I've had my car for 2.5 yrs now and have put an average of 2.7K miles per year. The car currently has about 25K miles on it. Today I decided to do a hard run (spirited drive) for a total of about 70 miles.
I occasionally hit 110 to 120 for short burst but for the most part drove in the 70-80 MPH between 2nd through 4th gear.
It's looking like I am going to get about 150 miles on this tank.
That just seems incredibly low but I have no idea. I get the car checked every Spring for its annual oil change and servicing and have been told everything seems to be in order.
Is my mileage per tank normal? i also realize MPG changes from driver to driver but please somebody/everybody chime in. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
My car is a 3.3 1992 turbo and I travelled 500miles on two tanks last summer,I think my car has a smaller tank than my mates normal 964 as I don't get the same amount of fuel in.
But when you get the need for speed they drink petrol,as I had a more spirited drive to silverstone and back this year and used the same amount of fuel and did only 360 miles.
I must buy some lighter shoes.
Regards Gaz

My fuel tank is just over 20 gallons. If I put the cruise control on and stay about 65-70, I can get about 21 mpg. If I drive like I normally do, I get about 16 or 17. Personally, the reason I own this car is because of the smiles the difference gives me.

Driven very careful at 65 MPH on the freeway I get 23-24....and that is VERY careful with no boost and steady throttle. Get on it and watch the fuel gauge drop. The turbo can burn some serious dead prehistoric animals on boost.

Well I checked it with mine yesterday, with very wet roads (but no motorways) so I took it steady
on a run I got 190 miles from a full tank I was pretty close to running out by the time I found a petrol pump!! Works out at about 13 to the UK Gallon, different to the American gallon I think? 4.546 litres per gallon

So it sounds like my range is normal...just wanted to check...I certainly bought this vehicle for MPH and not MPG but I still want the engine to be as efficient as possible.
Let me know if there is anything that I should be aware of or check for...leaky this or dripping that or cracking that.

Actually Fritz I bought the car last summer. It was in San Fransico and I live in East Texas.Flew out there and drove it home app.2200 miles.Ran between 70 and 100 most of the way on the highway.Saw 150 on the speedo once.Averaged between 24 and 25 mpg on that trip.I was surprised myself.Did enjoy myself too....
