Default good for the price?

I'm pretty infamous on this website from the 930 forum about me asking before I look into buying.

Anyone willing to give me their opinion, I'd really appreciate it.

bit tough to answer, on the face of it (photos/description) it looks a good car, although it is not the key issue. I would be keen to know the history of the car, number of owners, full service details etc etc. The basics with any car purchase. From the photos it has had cosmetic modifications, so I'd been keen to know if it has had an other mods, not visible and who carried them out.

Price is even harder for me to discuss in Europe as I don't have a clear view of US pricing, although translated into UK money 20k is a bargain at that mileage. Don't know if you have taxes etc on top?

I'd also do as you are and get some research done, try price comparissons with other cars. Perhaps add this with a call to the dealer to gauge what level of knowledge they have on these models, if they are well informed hopefully indicates they knew what they were getting their hands on.

Sorry I can't be of more help, fingers crossed a fellow lister knows the car in question, bearing in mind the rarity of these models there is every chance.

Good luck
Steve

I'll try and help, I paid $38K for mine (91' Turbo) Black/Black with 65K miles on it almost 2 years ago. My car was in nice shape with some tasteful upgrades, two owners but not too many service records...oh well!! I would take a stab at that price being "average", not paying too much (assuming it's a good car) and not stealing it either. With the overall economy in the US right now I would assume their is not too many buyers out there now for pricey toys so If it were me.........Bargain with him When the US economy is low, 911 Turbo's seem to follow and vice-versa..Good luck

I think it looks reasonable. I really like the color. Wheels not as much.

A good PPI and a few thousand off in nego, and I'd hit it!

Thanks for all your help as always. I had spoken with him before I posted this, seems to be his daily driver atm probably. No current leaks, no mods, and no wrecks according to the current owner and history of the car. It seems like a good find to me, but its been on there for a while, is it worth me going over to IL for a PPI?

Thank you Rennlist peeps. I appreciate you sirs helping me out.

Are those side markers just behind the headlights? If so, I've not seen those before. If the car checks out, it appears to be a very fair price.

Never seen those markers behind the lights...maybe customization? Hopefully, stuck on and no drilling.

As far as g50, it is the standard turbo transmission and it is a very solid one (albeit very expensive).

Find a good place to do a PPI.

I never even noticed those sidemarkers and I would never have noticed they aren't factory. I'm not to sure I'll settle for it but I'm debating a PPI.

Thanks again.

Well I'm scared that I will buy something that isn't reliable. I wouldn't even be able to detect any of the lies a seller may have like a 930 I was looking at supposedly it was an "exclusive porsche" which these rennlist gurus told me it really wasn't. (T_T) Just want a good car, is all!

I'm looking for THE ONE if you know what I mean

The 964t is fitted with the G50/52 gearbox. Other G50 trannies exist. I have a G50/01 in my 930 from a late USA carrera.

I am also considering a 1989 930 turbo but I'm just waiting on a good car and don't want to do anything I will regret and be scolded for here on rennlist.
