Oh, & I should also mention,... that the dry-ice blasting also let me see that my rubber steering boots were torn. I had not seen that in the years leading up to this point. You can see the tears in the pic above.
So THAT led me to replacing those too. It really does help go through the car thoroughly.... & for me, especially during a 20 yr ownership stint, the last thing I want to do with the car is become complacent.
So much fun owning a car that I am very proud of,... not to mention all the memories the car has given us, and the friends we've met over the years. Cobalt knows. Bad Boys Mike knows. Those two guys have really expanded my circle as well. Igooz too!! You guys are awesome, and I thank you all for sharing your stories here too. It helps keep the STOKE alive!!
This is like looking at Jewelry for me {below pics...} Amazing before and After ...

i went the other route. no dry ice, cleaned by hand. with parts cleaner, brush and water. this way i kept the original factory optics. even the brownish corrosion protection stays in place - only dust, oil, black debris is removed. car looks not as perfect as yours. instead it looks more as no one touched it ever.
Congrats on the purchase - these are amazing cars that have come into their own - perfect combo of old feel but very usable. I hope you put lots of miles on it.
The oil tank and those hoses are one of the biggest issues and I always keep a spare set for my cars just in case. Another one you should consider replacing is the J tube at the end of the metal pipe in the wheel well. Thirty year old rubber dries out no matter if it is garage kept or not.
Looks like the lower valance beam came loose on the one side and had been dragged across the bottom for a while. Nice clean floor pan considering. I would replace the 5 drain plugs while at it. They keep moisture from getting trapped in the frunk.
Be sure to use proper hose for that little connector from the tank. It's easy to just throw anything that will fit there - but needs to be rated for the temp if not also pressure. Not a hose you want to fail.
And yeah that J hose like Anthony said - I had one fail once - was only a couple years old - luckily it happened literally just as I parked my car in the garage - dumped out a ton of oil. If that would have happened while driving - bad news.

Yes! Those are correct Porsche oem hoses. Thanks for looking out!

Wow these are $76 from Sunset Porsche. I have a.receipt here from 2 years ago it was only $46. One thing many do is constantly crank down on the worm clamp if they see weeping. Big mistake. That will just cut into the hose and cause it to fail. If your hose starts to weep you can just loosen the clamp and move it on the hose to a fresh section until you get a replacement.
