The car has been cleaned up but not much about the mechanicals and a turbo with this many miles needs work by now.
Assume this car has been restored and repainted. The X33’s may never command the premium of a 3.6 despite the similar engine output and rarity as they are indistinguishable from a regular 3.3. Also no Speedlines and the 3.6 is the Bad Boys car which definitely makes people gravitate towards it. The only X33 I know of on the market is the black car with Ray Joseph. His is an Austrian spec car which I think there is pretty much no difference between that and a German spec like the red one. I have no doubt his is highly original and most likely priced $300k or more.

Following the turbo market has turned into my "morning paper". I learn more here about what to look for, what (and more recently, who) to watch out for than any other place. I have bid and sold on BaT and I have to say after what happened this week, I'm out. I have always wanted more for Pcarmarket anyway and I'd hope they advocate open and honest dialogue. I have won a car off pcarmarket and can't say enough good about them.

That aside, not long ago I'd have been all over this x33 car....figuring out how to sell my C2 and/or trade up. Over the last two years, I have completed so many unnecessary upgrades (part for learning, part for fun)....yes UNnecessary (bbi uprights, 993 turbo brakes, etc..) that I've come to love the thing to a point where I couldn't fathom trading or selling it for a turbo. So....I guess its time to just start side stashing some funds for a widebody in the future. I'm hanging onto this C2....its just too much fun.

I’m surprised to see this car still available at this price. Would’ve assumed at this point a dealer would have imported it back to the US to resell. Not my favorite color and don’t think it suits a 964 Turbo, but a very rare shade. Have heard that US spec examples in Europe don’t sell as easily compared to their RoW counterparts.

Interesting that Brett ended up with that one. I tried to contact the seller multiple times and never heard anything back.

I would LOVE to see that Coral Red Metallic color in person. I'm a fan just based on those pictures alone. If it's as beautiful as I think it might be in the sunlight, I would even consider trading up my Guards Red for it!!

I’ve seen a C2 in this color before. It’s a metallic red orange. Was only on the color palette for the 964 in ‘91 and ‘92.

I have seen a number of 968's and 928's in this color and I tried hard to buy that one but AFAIK it is listed as Coral red.

Although I get a lot of amethyst being a girly color I would prefer it over the coral. The coral is very nice but like my Maritime blue it looks washed out in some light. Although I was accused of my cobalt being a girly color early in.

No place at the moment. I appreciate the 993RS and I believe it doesn't have the immobilizer and alarm of the 993. If it does after messing with a number of 993' lately it just solidifies why I like 964's so much. They took 928 technology which was already overly complex and found a way to make it even more so. After driving the 993TT I so appreciate my 3.6T so much more. I just can't do the 993 thing. The turbo feels 1000 pounds heavier than the 3.6T and although it moves is IMO no faster if not slower in some ways. Now I remember why I decided on the 3.6T vs 993TT 20 years ago. The RS won't be nearly as fast or have the torque. They are great cars but far too GT and way to unnecessarily complicated. Although again I wouldn't say no to one.

GL with your decision.

Hey Anthony, well the drive of a 993rs is sort of in a class by itself. And yes I do like a 964T3.6 much better than a 993TT, not only on the road, but in appearance. Sort of tough to compare a 964T/993TT with the 993rs. totally different beasts as you know.

Agreed, The RS is more of a driver's car. More shifting and engaging but no where near as quick once moving. I just don't care that much for either tail they used. I missed on an RS spec car with power package and trans from the factory with aero kit in Midnight blue I liked much better but it came and went with the wind.

Tough call I usually say you have to have one of each to truly appreciate these cars.

Bid on this non sunroof/rear seat red 3.6 mentioned earlier seems low even considering the questionable history.
