A few weeks back I had someone approach me in the grocery store parking lot wanting to take a look at my car. I don't mind, in fact, I enjoy showing the car to people who are interested in them. Eventually, the conversation made its way to the value of the car and whether I was interested in selling. I stated I wasn't really sure what the market was currently, but that I wasn't planning on selling. He asked if $10k would do it, to which I smiled and said I thought it would take quite a bit more than that to separate me from my car. He was rather surprised at that, but thanked me for my time and went on his way.
ive also been flagged down while driving through a neighborhood several times asking if I wanted to sell.
Nobody has offered to buy my car (yet) but I have a few stories to share!
I was at the local pawn shop one day looking at guitars when a girl come up to her boyfriend/husband, who was standing near me and excitedly says "did you see that red car outside!" To which he replied "it' just a s****y Porsche! Obviously felt jealous or something Haha!
I get people pull up next to me at the lights some times and tell me they have a 911 or used to or their dad has one, and these people are allways great!
I was at the local hardware store a few weekends ago and walked out to my car and i heard the woman who was waiting in the car next to me say to her teenage kids "wow that's not who I expected" obviously was expecting a guy in a suit or something not a plumber in shorts and thongs haha
Everywhere I go the car gets comments and attention, it's great to talk to people enthusiastic about the same things as me and I love a good chat! (People say I could talk the leg off a chair) but it actually makes me a bit nervous driving it. I always drive past my street on the way home if someone is following me. And then turn around and go home!
Had a guy stop while I was working in the garage asking how much for the Porsche. I told him it's not for sale as per normal. He pressed for a price so I threw out $100k, cash. He looked shocked and asked why so much. My response got a laugh from him...'I said it's not for sale, but I'm also not stupid'
We are doing some renovations on our house right now, so the 964 is parked in the street
Sure enough, someone named Chuck left a love note asking to buy it.
Grocery store parking lot. Told the guy 50K and I'll go do my shopping, if you're still here when I get back we'll talk. Offered me 40 and I said no way.
