For the seats. These are the latest "rev2" Pole Position (they are fiberglass FIA certified), that come with the steel side mounts. I purchased aluminum separately, and used recaro sliders. Installing seats is a huge pain in the ***. Lots of drilling.

The sliders are PLA-0.70.9NT
The risers/side mounts are the standard for their wider seats. i think they only make a couple different side mounts. For skinny seats and wide seats.

Love what you've done here. Can't wait to get my 964... I've done a vintage race car build on a 69 about 10 yrs ago, but not a street hot rod Porsche... So it's threads like these that are bad bad bad....... This is inspiring for sure

Love this thread! Why was there lots of drilling involved with fitting the PP's? There's no bolt-in system of rails/mounts out there?

Mounts and sliders are general purpose. Gotta drill to fit. Could use oem sliders and drill less. Maybe.

They look better IMO. Did you end doing the passenger seat as well? Which model Recaro is that?

Both are recaro pole position (next gen).
If you're taller than say 5-10 or have a long torso you'll need the profi models.

Was at the shop this week, will be dropping off the 964 (finally?) to "finish" this phase. I like the car as it is. I want it a little louder, a little lighter, and safety/track use reliability. This will also give me the foundation for a 3.8L+ build at some point. :-)

I like to think of it as: everything I would do except paint it, fully cage it, build the motor, and build the transmission. It will be mechanically awesome, paint is pretty good, and interior is clean. My kinda car, a solid clean DRIVER.

This is the list.

Summary: install / paint a few body bits, strip interior, weld cage, reinforce seat mounts, new carpets, sound deadening, safety equipment, valve adjust, new lwfw/clutch, 2nd oil cooler, trans/engine mounts, headers/exhaust, rothsport shifter setup, and a few other engine bits.

Ruf A Pillar aero kit
mind telling where you picked these up? cost?

Mounting solution for OEM seat belt B pillar mount upper/lower
Retain OEM seat belts (front only) remove rears, mount to roll bar
this is mine

the lowe belt mounts are shared in the stock position

I bought but never installed the passenger side toe boards, they are'nt needed and subtract leg room

Remove rear seat center mount point (save this!)
I had to cut it off, don'y think there is a reasonable way to save it, may be wrong though

Here's an even lighter slicker alternative, these are 993 but you could do similar for 964, the main thing you are protecting is the electrics for ABS and rubber parts like ball joints & brake lines

You have left the "slippery slope" and graduated to the "greased lighting" slope... We read, we envy ...

Hey bill thanks for the pics. I saw your thread on the shields. I'll modify the 993RS shields which are on order. And yes protect the electrics is the reason. . Cheaper than regular ones!

Toe boards are for looks. I'm short :-)
I like how you did the belts. I may opt for bolt in vs clip in.

The ruf a pillar aero I ordered from ruf.

Fvd sells but you'll get cheaper direct

A point on the seat mount reinforcements. Talked to shop about this, they've done on several AC cars and will basically build a new set of floor mounts welded and reinforced to the chassis vs. just reinforcing what is there. I think this is a really critical mod (i.e. do SOMETHING) for anyone that is tracking the car. The OEM mount points are really quite flimsy.

I'll get some pics posted of this mod when the work starts. (scheduled end of month, had to slip my RS in there for some new shocks! )

did some oil cooler fan debugging and modded with the 2.2k ohm resistor mod to lower the fan trigger point.
