Default PPI in Denver... and possible Rennfax

I may have found a 964 for my wife and the selling dealer has no problems with a PPI and he mentioned Storz and Eisenbuds as very good local shops. Upon doing a search, these shops seem to have a good reputation but anyone in Denver can either confirm or recommend another shop? If someone has some free time today and wants to look at a 964, a Rennfax would be greatly appreciated.

I used to live in Denver and used Eurosport Automotive.

Storz are my mechanics as well as many others in Denver. They do good work and have probably forgotten more than most people know

Both of those are reputable shops.

I used Eisenbuds for my PPI a few years ago. They focused on the engine with a leak down test and spent time talking with me.

I've used Eurosport in Arvada (as mentioned in an earlier post) for some steering rack work and they seemed very knowledgable, but they do work on other cars.

Sorry I missed the chance to do a Renfax! Is the car you are looking at on CL-Denver? I see a couple of 964s listed right now.

Thanks all for the feedback. The 964 is at a used car dealer and it was purchased through auction and while I appreciate the referral for Eurosport, I prefer to use someone who is really into air cooled. Unfortunately, Eisenbuds is booked solid this week but Storz could do it tomorrow or Wednesday. I talked to Bob and he would want the car the whole day to make sure it is absolutely cold for a leak down, hopefully it's not an issue for the seller.

Both Storz and Eisenbuds have good reputations though I have never used them. Eisenbuds works on lots on other cars like Eurosport, I have talked with both of them in the past and would not use them.

Chris Cervelli who is very well known reopened a shop several years ago, is stellar at alignments, transmission rebuilds and overall engine work. 303.809.6173 in Wheat Ridge. He set up my 993 RS suspension (Bob).

If the car is in north denver area Simple Auto Solutions (Chris) does very good work on air cooled cars, he worked for Car Quip for a long time and is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. 720-236-1245

I tried calling Chris a couple times but it went to VM, so I booked with Bob @ Storz.

There is also 3zero3 Motorsports. They might be able to get you in sooner. Otherwise you are booked with an excellent shop.

I believe the reason for taking a Porsche to them is long gone.

The selling dealer emailed me he was going to drop it off @ Storz last night, but then told Bob he couldn't due to some insurance reason. Probably trying to do some last minute cleanup or needs more time to take the couple pics he promised me 4 days ago.
He is supposed to drop it off first thing in the morning and leave it all day, hopefully it goes well.

Bob & Mike @ Storz were a pleasure to deal with. They had the car all day yesterday, looked at everything, and Bob spent a considerable amount of time relaying all his findings and answering all my silly questions. He even lowered the PPI fee he had originally quoted me. Two thumbs up! . Thanks all for the recommendation.

Unfortunately for my wife but fortunately for my wallet, I've decided to pass on the car. The search continues.

Thumbs up

Big +1 for Simple Auto Solutions, after a trip to another local shop for a PPI where some really basic stuff was missed, I started searching for another option. Talked to Chris at SAS and set up an appointment. Brought the car in and found Chris and Mikey to be extremely knowledgeable, friendly and just great to deal with in every way. As someone who does most of his own Audi wrenching but new to Porsche I can't say enough about these guys, I normally don't trust other people to work on my cars but would be 110% comfortable with them. They also programmed my new key fob so I no longer have to do the Le Mans start to avoid setting off my alarm. Really reasonably priced to top it off.
