Rear light issue
Hi All,
I just bought a 1994 964 widebody and installed new rear lights. (Had to sell a kidney for it) Anyway, there seems to be an ugly opening above the
lights. Is this normal? I know that earlier models had a seal there, but the later models didn't, I believe. Should I install a seal there, or leave it? See photo.
Thanks!

yep, definitely normal. do NOT try to put the seal in there, or the single screw that holds them in will not hold and the light will fall out, drag along the road (ask me how i know )

Three Wheelin'
I was literally going to search about this one. I also have the gap... It seems normal.
The question I have, one of my sides is loose like if a seal was there it I wouldn't be able to be manipulated up and down... Any ideas? I need to pull it out and have a look.
Thanks for posting this question!!

Race Car
The seals are only on the older tail lights. My car still has them. The new ones look a little funny to me, but at least no water will stay back there and cause problems.

Rear light
Hi 964 Gang,
One other questions about the rear light installation.
Do I leave the rubber ring around the screw on that came with the light?
Or, does it come off? Thanks!

1989 models had the full seal (maybe a few early '90's too). After that it was not used. My first 964 did, the second didn't. Water doesn't get in there (not that you should worry about anyway), and the slots actually helps with some of the venting of any condensation etc.
If without the seal the unit feels loose it could be that originally it did have the seal with a longer screw. A shorter screw may help.
