Lightweight Battery
What is the current opinion (no pun intended) on batteries?
My battery seems to have died after being left disconnected and not on the conditioner during my winter maintenance and is no longer holding a charge even when plugged into the conditioner, so I'm thinking of a lightweight battery.
The Odyssey 925 seems available here in the UK fairly easily and seems a common choice? I have seem some talk of LiOn batteries but no recommendations on manufacturer or model? Do I need to buy the terminals separately with the 925? Do I need a special battery clamp?
Most of the threads I can find seem a few years old... Thanks.

I have PC 680 for years with a cut off, mine is a C4 ( it pressurize the system as soon as you turn key) , I always cut the battery ( not for the day) I make sure nothing else is on when start the car, but it's start perfect, there is 2 types one with the negative the other way around witch is better with Rennline carrier, I had to mod mine a bit with the normal +&- side,

On the link you can see the connectors for a classic battery.
When money permits I will next go with a lithium saving another 5 kg.

Kos, interesting you use the 680 on a C4. I'm thinking the 925 might be better for me with the Rennline carrier. C4 with AC, still with elec seats, etc. I can foresee nights sat in traffic around Le Mans with radio on, AC, lights, maybe the rear demist in my future...
What are the lithium batteries like? Pros / cons, recommendations?

Me too,
you only need it to start the car and to hold current when left parked with the alarm and using central locking to open and close, but as extra security i cut it and take the cut off switch with me. ( I have 2 red keys in case I loose one they are £6 each)
As a precaution I alway turn off everything before switching off the car and never have the cabin lights on, but still it will start the the car if I forgot to do so, I can live the car for 3 weeks, but mind you the weather here is very mild compare to UK....a lithium could be better in the cold...

As per the 993 RS link above
964RS used a battery half the size and weight of a regular 964
Ive got the Bosch (063)equivalent in mine and have had for 18 months or so with no problems at all (was also under £40.00 at ECP) fits existing brackets termianals etc as well
Then again Ive no A/C or radio so dont know how it would cope with the extra drain

Li-on batteries are very light (3kg) and also very expensive ($1k). I would guess a chat to one of the suppliers or manufacturers would be the best route forward to help in understanding what is out there. I am unsure of the definition of a racing battery and if this could be used reliably on a road car?
Super B, Braille and Voltphreaks are three names that have come up that could offer a solution.

I've been running the PC 680 for about 4 years now. After multiple drains to empty its starting to fade and will need replacing soon.
There are some new kids on the block though:

Now I'm not saying thats the right battery but its close and its under 1.5 kg's (PC 680 is 7kg)!
Lipo will be even more poweful once they get some sorted, check this out:

That sounds like a great solution! Have you got a linky as searching for these seems to throw up a few different versions.
