Three Wheelin'
If you want to remove the rear compressor to save weight, go ahead, but I would leave everything else in the car...much easier to get back to stock if you decide to sell the car in the future.

I need to know if any set of trailing arms for a narrow body car will fit on any narrow body car. I'm going to buy a set to refurb and then install so my car isn't off the road long. Seller doesn't specify c2 or c4...hubs are still on the arms.
Am I safe to assume they are the same as my c4 arms? Any differences btw c4 and c2?

Brake lines q - when cutting the shock tab which the line hoes thru to make rotor changes a bleed-less affair ... Is it better to cut the top or bottom with a slot?

Or am I mistaken?

Yes but unless you bend the hardline you need to unclip at the tab, and slotting the tab makes it easier to move the caliper out of the way. I would slot it anyway tbh, sooner or later everyone has to move the caliper out of the way or mess with the shocks.

Really love my flags but the more I see pics of 964s with aeros, the more I want to switch. Where the best place to source aero mirrors? Are they a direct fit? Is there a difference between 964 and 993 aeros? Lastly, can/should I reuse the flag base?

Once that's done, pull out the sensor and shoot it with brake cleaner or wd40 or whatever else works and reinstall. You could also shoot inside the hole to the outer ring on the cv...but honestly I'd wait till the axle was out to do that...others may have another opinion about that...
All in all it's very easy. And good maintenance.

Burning Brakes
Thanks a lot!
Also, where are they?
What do they look like?
What's the overall procedure?
Tools required? (Sorry, never done this...)

Soak the Allen head that holds them in with lots of pb blaster if you have never taken them out. Clean the inside of that Allen. And use a high quality Allen wrench to back it out. They get stuck over time and if they haven't been out in your lifetime, then take measures to not strip them.

Re cutting a slot in the brake line bracket on shock tower...
Any guidance here guys or is it too little and too silly a question!?
#569
Not silly at all! I cut mine in the side, the clip holds it in place, new clips are a good idea, I didn't like the geniune ones, found better all purpose ones with a lasting finish.
Cut the slot the size of the hard pipe so the main threaded union wont come out sideways if you see what i mean.

Do you have a set of shop manuals? PDFs are available online every so often before getting taken down.
