That's awesome man!

How'd you go about setting the cam timing properly?

I'm reminded of RicardoD's thread where he talks about having a specialist come out and set the timing on his car.

Sounds great! It must be very exciting to have her running again and to take that first ride. Congrats!

[QUOTE=Vandit;11618228]That's awesome man!

Hey Vandit
for me this was not a walk in the park. it took me much reading & watching to understand where all parts are when number one is firing

RedTech videos, a PFI DVD and Waynes book explained the procedure well also the right gauges & tools

once you have your #1 TDC ready to fire it's the dial indicator gauge on intake that gets tricky, once this is right you have to do the same setting on #4 on its turn to fire
for me it was going over every point of assemble very casually

if i was a mechanic by trade i'd starve

thanks for asking

I am telling you when I do the reseal or possibly rebuild on my Silver C4 soon I am going to do the timing myself!! Kills me I had to call a specialist (mobile mechanic) to bail me out at the end.

Very inspiring Enso but I am so tempted to throw more money at Steve Weiner to help me hotrod my motor (when all it needs is a reseal).

Steve gave me good a dive and good product, he recommended and complete kit of Viton seals...and i have NO leaks

If you can work on your motor you can do the timing
Patience, the right tools and information

Keep us posted Ricardo

Hi Glenn,

Was great meeting you last night at the tech night, car looked great! I really enjoyed reading through your build thread, and look forward to doing the same this winter.

Cheers,

Joining in the congratulations Enso! Just finished my 5 month "top end" this week. Feels great to drive again.

Vandit- cam timing isn't as bad as you imagine. Seeing your other threads, you'll have no problem. Z-block and dial gauge are all that you need.
