Default Running E-10 gas in the 964

Has anyone run their 964 on E-10 gas long term? In my area, it is not readily available. Do I need to drive the extra miles to get pure gas or can I run it on E-10? What are the long term effects?

Thanks,
jlo

I've been using E10 for about 12 years (lived in a special area of the country that mandated it) and the majority of the USA has been using it for at least 7 years? It hasn't been an issue... Porsche's stance is;

These Porsche vehicles may not be run on E10 fuel. As an alternative, Super unleaded (98 RON) can be used. With a maximum bioethanol content of 5% (E5 fuel), Super unleaded is compatible with these vehicles.

Was there any mention of how they knew E5 was responsible for the fuel line splitting?

+1 with Jason's comment. I've run it for a long time (10+ years) without issue. I wouldn't worry about it.

Mr. Weiner recommends adding Marine Sta-bil to E10 fuel.

I've been fueling up with Shell V-power down here in GA, unsure if there is ethanol in it or not but the car runs fine!

Up here in BC Shell V-Power has no ethanol. Also it is my understanding that Petrocan Ultra 94 and Chevron Super Premium 94 both now do contain ethanol. meh...I try for the Shell but don't notice any difference with any premium gas I use.

I run it in my race car. I did have to retune my racing engine when we went from Sunoco 94 pure to Mobil 93 with Ethanol. Based on my experience I believe the retuning was more a result of the ethanol than the octane difference.

With the help of www.pure-gas.org, I was able to locate quite a few stations that have ethanol free gas available in my area. It is also nice to hear that some of you have run E-10 for 15 years with no issues.

Thanks,
jlo

No choice here in Texas, tougher to restart my old MFI 73 in hot weather but otherwise no problems.
