Default Momo Competition wheel????

So it is time to replace my stock steering wheel on my 90 c4. It seems that the accepted upgrade is a mod 7 wheel but just can't get over the yellow stripe and I also want something a little more refined. Really like the look of the momo competition wheel. I know that you don't just buy a steering wheel on looks alone....so...Any pros or cons....as I cannot find anyone with a wheel locally, I am would be buying blind. And while I have your attention, what does one purchase to upgrade the shift ****.

Get the Mod 7, it's a proper wheel.

Get the Rothsport billet shifter and be done with the **** questions also.

I love the 'look' of the Mod 07 wheel; however, when I had the opportunity to wrap my fingers around one, I was very surprised at how skinny it was. Unless there is a 'mod' for this steering wheel to make it thicker, it felt too skinny for my hands and long fingers. The Momo Competition is much thicker, which I really like.

I had a Competition and liked is very much, but had to space it out from the hub to
achieve a comfortable driving position. I replaced it with the Mod 07 which looks the part and does not need a spacer in my case. I like the feel of the alcantara, and yes it is a little on the "skinny" side but you get used to that quickly.

Pretty sure the shifter is only for 2wd cars only...too bad!

I have the mod 08, and it looks deceptively thick in photos. I dont know what it is, I guess the camera adds 10 pounds! Feels pretty good, but could use a little more. (also what she said )

One thought about the Mod 7. It was designed to be driven with gloves.

Put on a set of Sparco Tides and the wheel is heaven in the hands.

I've just changed to the 7 and really like it for the track but i would say my previous clubsport wheel was better for street.

Being owner of this said wheel, I will try not to be offended

Haha... no offense intended. After all, that wheel is certainly the reason that I can't match your lap times, right? But just wait until I add a quick-release to mine... you'll never catch me after that!
