Default rear ended

So I have been off from work for a couple of weeks and was driving back to work on Wednesday morning. Stop and go and the guy behind me did not stop.

Steve,

I'm sorry this happened, its a PITA.

I had an accident in 2004 and the Porsche Approved Bodyshop I used completely put me at ease with the situation. The shop foreman walked me round and showed me how they rebuild the cars to factory standards. The approved process usually replaces all bent panels, drilling out welds.

You're probably livid with the situation, but provided you get the right shop (which doesn't need to be an approved shop), everything can be fixed as good as it was.

Ouch! If I had that happen I think I'd choose the body shop of a Porsche Dealership to do the repairs.

Sorry to hear that Steve, and you had the car so well sorted out.

I have used Dell Auto Body in Campbell for all of my body work. They do high end cars. Stop by and check them out, State Farm was happy with their quotes.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Steve. Another shop you may want to check out is German Auto Body on Martin Ave. in Santa Clara. John Rost is the owner and they do a lot of Porsche work. They also use Glasurit paint.

Good luck,

Bill

Sucks big time. My '70 Cuda looked similar when someone did that. But, I wasn't even driving it. The car was parked at the side of the road and I was near it. Some senile (quite literally) old man blasted into the rear quarter at about 45 mph. He was so addled, he thought that I hit HIM!. I did get it repaired, but it was a pain.

I cringed when I saw your pic.

Car is at Anderson Behel in Santa Clara. No appraisal value yet from insurance company. Estimate is min $12K.

Maybe I will swing by German or Dell to talk to them. Thanks for the input.
