Interested for sure, waiting for pricing and shipping to Toronto Canada.

Thx

RK

Ps. Any sense of timing? I'm actually in London next week! Happy to pack it home and save shipping.

Hi Frank,

Please put my name down for a set in plastic going to Switzerland. For technical inspection and insurance purposes, it would be ideal if the original part numbers were built into the mould.

On a related note, many thanks for taking the initiative to follow up on this. Last year I tried ordering a new set from TechArt and managed to buy the middle and one of the side sections. Unfortunately TechArt were not prepared to produce any further parts and were selling out their remaining stock...

Cheers,

Mark

Update

Afternoon gents,

Thank you for your kind patience.

Just off the phone from LWS.

Copyright - The splitter will be an exact replica except that there will not be any TechArt part number etc, and there will be one less air hole on either side.

Construction - They will be made of high quality infused fibreglass not plastic as perviously suggested.

"We would be making it much tougher than the lotus one we make, we did some playing about in the workshop yesterday and the product will basically be made from the same material and thickness as the moulds themselves, these are almost indestructible!" - Andy LWS Design

Their Lotus Elise S2 splitter is made of the same stuff but lower strength and gets great reviews.

Fibre glass - These will be £ 250 each for our GB. These will retail at £ 300 on their web site.
Carbon Fibre - These will be £ 350 each for our GB. These will retail at £ 425 on their web site.
VAT? - I'll find out short if these prices include VAT.

TechArt - ones were originally £ 380!!!

Timescale - First product ready to be moulded in 5 weeks.

NB: Please do nothing at this stage - I will update as and when you will need to do something.

Thanks for the update Frank. Will these come pre-painted in black or will they be the "raw" fibreglass?

Nice...although if that doesnt include include VAT and there's potentially 40+ customers they can do one...

Very eloquently put Mark!

I must admit, I'm less keen that it's in fibreglass rather than plastic. I already have a fibreglass lip and have to repaint it every so often because it gets stone chipped. Maybe I could use a more resilient paint, but part of the attraction was the OEM feel to it...

Stan is right. Fiberglass is much less attractive.

Agree on the fibreglass part, shame they cannot/ will not do it in plastic.

PLASTIC WOULD PROBABLY ENTAIL A TOOLING COST, WHICH WOULD MAKE THE PRICE MUCH HIGHER. WITH FIBRE GLASS, I'M GUESSING THEY TAKE A MOULD FROM THE ORIGINAL, THEN WORK FROM THERE, SO NO TOOLING COSTS KEEPS THE PRICE DOWN.

A QUESTION, CAN THEY GEL COAT THEM TO THE COLOUR WE WANT.

I WANT RED FOR INSTANCE, STAN AND MARK MAY WANT RED TOO, HOW MANY OTHERS WANT RED?
BLACK ETC ETC.

OF COURSE, THOSE WITH UNUSUAL COLOURS WILL HAVE TO HAVE THEM PAINTED.

THE GEL COAT CAN STILL GET CHIPPED, BUT THE COLOUR WILL ALWAYS BE THE THAT OF THE GEL COAT.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG.
