Tech Art front splitter - GroupBuy ON!
Hi Gents,
Backstory
As some of you may remember I had tried to organise a group buy for TechArt 964 splitters and had failed as they would only restart production for 100 units!
LWS Design
So I contacted LWS Design (thanks to MFRSR) about making a new batch. They would take the original three piece splitter and make an exact mould.
About LWS
Rennlisters have been happy with their work.
"LWS Design is a small company dedicated to lightweight composite parts for fast-road, track and race cars.
All of our products are designed, tooled and manufactured on site using the highest quality of materials in our Composites Workshop on Hayling Island, Hampshire. Every part we make is tailored exactly to your requirements for strength, weight and aesthetics.
Thanks to the technology and manufacturing experience used at LWS Design we are able to offer you a service that promises a consistent quality whilst maintaining a competitive position in today's market.
We only make light-weight parts that save weight, although we appreciate that alot of people are only after the look of carbon fibre, our passion is to make cars faster and the performance and status of the carbon fibre is what matters to us you will not find any Carbon Fibre Wrapped parts at LWS Design.
Although we are only a small company, customer satisfaction is our priority and by ensuring all of you are taken care of and offered the best possible customer services and products we will continue to grow with your repeat custom and recommendations.
Please browse the website and have a look at what we do, as a new start up we welcome the chance to increase our exposure and also your cars so once parts are fitted to your cars please do send the pictures through and we will be more than happy to add them to the Customers Cars Section'.
If there is something that we don't do, just drop us an email and we will endeavour to help you with anything we can, including any technical advice you may require"
Why?
There are many manufacturers of splitters out there. However most require bonding, fettling and are made of less robust carbon fibre or fibre glass.
TechArt's 964 splitter is made of more robust plastic and is a simple bolt on solution that replaces the front bumper under tray. No fettling or bonding needed - direct swap.
Cost
A lot less than what TechArt used to charge. I'm told at this very preliminary stage we can expect much below £ 250.. In order to justify moulding the part they would need a minimum of 5 orders.
I'm told they can make the part in special LWT hard plastic, carbon fibre or fibre glass as you wish.
Time frame
Having spoken with a very helpful Andrew - it seems they are busy for the next 6 weeks. As the part is no longer available I hope you as me won't see this as an issue.
Order
International buyers welcome.
NB
Please do nothing/ do not call LWS - they aren't ready.
I will post up information as & when I hear back from Andrew. They will let me know when they are ready to take phone orders.
This is a preliminary 'interested' list. Prices, postage and details are pending.
Your patience is much appreciated. LWS has other works on atm and the process may take some time.
Info
I will post more info as the project develops/ I get more info from Andrew.
Pictures
Here a load of pictures that show the product installed and construction.
Model
For 964 narrow body fitment.

I would be in for this price depending for the plastic. Would be happy to pay around the £150 mark for the plastic one tbh if they are good quality like OE. I have RSR style fibre glass at the moment but would like something better.
Just a thought Frank but would this company be able to make replicas of the TechArt brake duct fog lights like you have? I know FVD do them but £600+ for some plastic, some ducting and MK3 VW Golf fog lights seems a lot for someone of my means even if they do look good!

Good amount of interest here! I'll post soon as I find out more.
I'll post soon as.
I suppose so. Bear in mind that you'd still need ducting pipe and deflectors - still more cost effective. The VW fog lights I believe have to be slightly modified - I'll report on this in my thread when I hear back from my indy.
