Little update.
Fitted new engine mounts couple of weeks ago.
Not really driven proper till sunday, north wales run.
Car is loads better to drive at pace, the engine must of been throwing itself around the engine bay.
Much better.

I took a couple pics tonight. Based on other thread pics I think mine are shot.

Look it to me, they look like the ones i removed.
When i turned at pace the car would turn then a milli sec later youd feal the car settle.
Hard to explain.
But the second movement must of been the engine slumping around!
Now you turn and the whole car turns as one, no second slump/movement.

Yes they are!!

Go for RS, Type 911 do them for around £255 all in including bolts. there is a bit more vibration but not in a way that detracts from comfort for me... just feels more connected.

Does anyone know if / how you can remove the engine carrier part to apply the rennline reinforcement brace without dropping the engine? Is it easy to do?

The engine stays in the car but you need to remove the silencer and the rear tin ware piece.

IS the reinforcement plate strictly necessary? I've not got it on mine..

Not necessary but very advisable for stiff mounts like RS or wevo blue where the carrier will come under more stress than it was designed for.

I have black wevos and the Rennline carrier reinforcement

You don't need to drop the engine but you do need to support the engine with a jack (and jack stand just in case...) while your carrier is out. Remember you'll need to repaint the reinforced carrier with heat tolerant paint too.

That's brilliant advise chaps. I'm going WEVO blue eventually but the carrier piece turns it from a simple DIY to a bit of a nightmare...Is it easy to remove the above yourself/ how long approx?

It would be rude not to paint it red whilst it was out

It might be depending on your definition of nightmare- definitely have to pull the rear bumper, rear most exhaust canister and the rear tin. Yeah, that was kind of a pain. Not sure I'd put in Wevo (great company and great support) blues without the reinforcement plate though- perhaps others that have experience and can speak to that.

Regarding installing the Rennline reinforcement piece. Check my thread.

Lots of slippery slope while-i'm-in-there potential along the way w/ this project.
