Default valve cover colors.

I am out hunting for gold High heat paint. Can't find any. Is it criminal to paint those red? Or just paint them silver. Need answer quick as I am very indecisive. Haha.

I did mine in yellow.

The magnesium covers were gold from the factory. The later model aluminum versions were silver.

Here is first coat. Sand blast did wonders. Did a clear coat inside of cover.

I'm planning to glass bead mine and not sure if I'm painting them with High Heat Red or just use High Heat Clear.

I would not glass bead anything that will be in contact with the engine oil, even if they are painted afterwards. Soda blasting would be my choice.

Glass will get imbedded into the valve covers and can get into the engine oil, you get the picture. Soda blasting does not leave a residue that will harm the engine.
