Comparing the 2 wheel/tire sets
BBS Wheels:
Front -
* 8.5J ET55 - 3mm spacer would be the same as Veloce, but 0.5J wider wheel may cause issue?
* 225/ 40 Toyo R888

Rear -
* 10J ET55 - 8mm spacer would be the same as Veloce, although we have about 5mm space between tyre and lip of arch...
* 265/ 35 Toyo R888

Veloce Wheels:
Front -
* 8J ET52 - Slight rubbing of tyre on inside wheel well on lock, fine on track.
* 225/ 40

Rear -
*9J ET47 - About 5mm space between tyre and lip of arch no rubbing at all.
*265/ 35
_____________________________________________________________
Front w/o any spacers the BBS will sit 3.35mm closer to the lips and 9.35mm closer to the inner wall/suspension pieces, this shouldn't be an issue and you will like the better turn in that the wider wheels provide

Rear w/ 8mm spacers the BBS sit 12.7mm closer to the lips and 12.7mm closer to the inner wall, I've seen these wheels used w/ 275/35 x18 tires on race height 964s so they will work, I don't know whether 8mm is the best spacer or not you'll have to do trial and error here

Searching through Rennlist - making notes
It seems for a 10J rear you want ET44-50.
A rennlister has ET47 10J, two others have ET44 10J.

ET44 would give me more backspace.
BBS ET55 with 11mm spacer = 44.
5.7mm closer to lip.

Plus the fact I'm adding more rear camber I'll have more room between tyre and arch lip.

Bill you're a star thanks - was hoping you'd chime in.

So,
FRONT
Pic 1 Veloce ET52 8J. No spacer. Backspace 167mm. Rubbing inside at full lock.
Pic 2 BBS ET 55 8.5J. No spacer. Backspace 176mm.

= 9mm extra backspace needed.

REAR
Pic 3 Veloce ET 42 9J. Back space 170mm. (there's a 5mm spacer currently in there forgot to mention, sorry Bill)
Pic 4 BBS ET ET 42 with 13mm spacer 10J. Back space 182mm. So in theory this would be 7.7mm closer to the lip - based on your figures? Which would be too close, considering I have 5mm left to hit the arch lip with 9J ET42.

= 12mm extra backspace needed.

I have E28's on my car:

Front is:
8", ET50 with 225 Michelin cup.
Max caster, zero toe, and -2,8 camber

Rear:
10", ET44 (ET65 with a 21 mm spacer) with 265 Michelin Cup
Toe in (but I've forgot how much) and camber -2,3. Fender lips are rolled.

I've no scrubbing issues with this set up and the tire wear & temp are even. I drive to the tracks to so I get som real milage but the tire wear is still even over the surface.

Car is coming together Frank, fancy pair of veloce speedline wheels for it at some stage although it's not at the top of my list as suspension needs doing first. Hope to join in for some spring 964 meets...all the best

Great thanks, Thomas.

So I need to find an 11mm spacer....
15mm adapter/ spacer is the smallest size that is physically possible - this wouldn't work as ET40 is too risky even with lots of camber for a track car.
I would need an 11mm spacer however this would reduce the wheel studs and be too dangerous - so I also need longer studs and open ended nuts/ deeper nuts for when on the Veloce.

As much as you are the bad influence who made me drool over black & gold - stay away!

BRILLIANT - Thank you Pops!

SO, here is the final recap of what I'm going to do (likely a few mm here and there difference)!

FRONT
Pic 1. Veloce 8J ET52.
Pic 2. BBS 8.5J ET55 with 3mm shim = ET52.

Backspace difference of 6mm.

REAR
Pic 3. Veloce 9J ET 42.
Pic 4. BBS 10J ET55 with 11mm shim = ET44. (w/ longer wheel studs and open nuts)

Backspace difference of 14mm.

I am. 225/40 BFG R1s or 235/40 R6s. I have a very low ET and will find my wheel specs in a sec.

Here you go!
THAT car is gorgeous!!!

Edit to add: Found the specs for my Jongbloeds. One would think they won't work, but the proof is in the pudding (see left)...

Front 18x8.5 with 1.5 outer and 7 inner. 36mm offset.

Rear 18x9.5 with 2 outer and 7.5 inner. 45mm offset.

Glad to be of service

Now if I can only get you to change the colour scheme to black/yellow and ditch the drive to the front wheels, then you'd pretty much have my ideal 964!
