If you're selling, not a lot......I'll take them off your hands for £10

If you're buying, LOTS!

Freedman or Boxsey would know best, I'm sure they'll chime in.....

Wow, being mentioned in the same breath as Steve, I'm honoured

3k euro's upwards from the last few sets Ive seen for sale, unlikely to be less than that unless you get really lucky

At least in Germany they are nearly impossible to find.

If you find a decent (depending on the prcise definition of decent) set, you typically pay > 4000 EUR. The well known RS dealers charge you > 5000 EUR for a set of used ones which need to be refurbished.

Freisingers quotation for a set of new ones in original boxes was 12000 EUR.

A wide spread.

Stefan (with a set of refurbished ones safely stored)

Damn right, between you (parts), Alex (mechanics) and Steve (track) I'm never in doubt.

If only I was useful!

Are there any fake sets out there, some give aways to check originality? These wheels are marked "magnesium" and "made by SM??" And the size of one wheel is ET55 7,5x17.

There is a nice story to this set I have been offered, I will explain later...

These we were the widths and offsets on the set I saw for sale:

2x 7,5J x 17 ET 55
2x 9 J x 17 ET 55

AFAIK the above are the standard sizes for an original set of mags.

Probably best way to check for fakes is to weigh them. Nice to have but would you do with them? To use them on track, I'd probably want mine xray'd, they are nearly 20years old and designed for longevity, just racing in period.

Mine are tucked up in the loft, a set of Cup1s is nearly as good. Esp, now you can buy new ones, as per the other thread.

I have a full set, beautiful, re-done in England and purchased by a guy here in the US for his perfect speedster, then sold car and sold me the wheels. I have them boxed up and safe. I wouldn't part with them for less than $8K US. Super rare and really cool wheels.

Great wheels. Who's going to risk using them on the street? Collector value, yes, street value, no.

Thanks for the info, I have been offered a set of cup wheels that as it turns out are probably RS wheels. The owner recently passed away and his family thought about me when they saw the Porsche logo. Off course my first reaction was, "where is the car!!!". But turns out he he was a collector of all sorts of automobilia and never owned an RS.

So I want to help them get a fair price as I don't intend to keep them myself ( 993 owner...)

Let you know when I see them in person.
