I just switched from the standard Mobile 1 15/50 to Motul 15/50 and use either the Mahle or Porsche filters. No issues to date...

Using Motul 300V 15-50 too after Steve Weiner recommendation. Costy but peace of mine.

I'm an Amazon Prime member so I get 2nd Day Air shipping free. Don't forget, you also don't pay tax when ordering online.

Rotella T6 Syn, 5w40. It's a heavy diesel oil available at walmart for ~$20/gallon.

Alright guys, thanks for the input. Ordered 13 quarts of BP and a Mahle filter yesterday. Had some things to order from ECS Tuning anyway, so i just threw them in with that stuff. Also got a new spoiler curtain, a new lighted key head, and new engine lid struts.

I was figuring 11 for the change, plus a couple extras in case it uses some between changes.

11 might be to much unless you are doing the oil cooler . You no doubt know about the overfill problems .
On other cars adding oil to the oil filter before installation makes sense , it does nothing for the 964 .

You're going to have problems should you do a normal oil change and then add 11 quarts.

I was planning to follow the method in the DIY to add 7 then add til full.

Is there a drain plug on the cooler? Since im going in with the BP for the first time, It wouldnt hurt to get as much of the old out before replacing.

There is no stock drain plug for the oil cooler . I wish there was .

Its very easy to go right past the "full" mark .
I like to run mine with the needle just getting off the bottom peg
when the motor is hot hot and the car at a full stop for a bit .
