Thanks - Just googled and there is a OPC 15mins down the road :-) I've given them a call and a pair of 993 C4 mounts will be available for me to collect tomorrow morning :-D

Still no word back from the ebay seller friend...

Sounds like your EBay mounts were junk.
Double check your torque settings too as if I recall correctly my Wevo mounts only required ~45ft/lbs. 85Nm is much higher!

Wise words of advice.

You'd never believe what I've seen with E-bay and other counterfeit parts that failed, leaving the owner with no means of redress.

For that kind of thing, dealer-sourced or Wevo, only.

Been there, done that. I had better luck with my Deutsche Technic Ebay motor mounts. I used them for a few thousand miles but I eventually swapped them out with 993 mounts. The difference in build quality is not small.

I agree with Steve. The only new 964 parts I buy on Ebay are cosmetic. I'm currently loving my new Ebay windshield visor clips and my new washer fluid cap

ALL OE Freudenberg engine mounts for the 964 & 993, including the 993 C4 are hydraulic. However aftermarket OEM Corteco mounts are available in hydraulic and solid rubber versions. The rubber versions are for all intents and purposes (no idea how they differ in durometer), functionally the same as the 964RS & WEVO mounts. Meaning (just a word of warning) if anyone has ever tried to take off the engine mounts without first jacking the engine, they will likely require some bracing or an extra weld or two on their stressed engine carrier.

Anyone have an install guide? My garage told me they tried to fit my 993 mounts but stopped because the engine tin wear was being crushed!? Make sense to anyone?

I have 993 mounts on mine and no issues with the tinware. No special measures required in fitting.

Doesn't make sense to me Mr. Simpson. I just used the 993 C4 mounts from Pelican Parts (Rein) on my 1991 C2 Tip and didn't run into any issues.

The picture of that failed 'new' mount is tough to look at!

We offer a broad range of brands including Genuine Porsche, WEVO, Tarett, Mode & Corteco:
