Default The search is off... And now the search is on!

After over a year of trying to buy a set of 964RS Recaros I was finally able to buy a pair. They are in really excellent condition, they look like they're six months old rather than 20 years old. I really wanted the pink and purple seats - for obvious reasons, but I wasn't about to pass on this pair. They came with the mounts and runners - so I literally had to unbolt my original leather Sport seats and and bolt the new ones in. The seats still have the 964 part number sticker on the underside.
It took me longer to carry the original seats up the stairs and manoeuvre them into my attic than it did to fit the RS seats. That task nearly killed me!
Anyway, I am not about to say the RS seats are more comfortable but at the same time you're not likely to see the original seats ever again, unless you visit my attic.
I am beyond happy with the new seats!

Now I am on the search for a set of BBS E28 Magnesiums... You have to have a wants list on the go, don't you. Can anyone help?

Those are nice. I want some Pole Positions for my car.

How do the OEM RS seats differ from some standard Recaro Pole Positions?

Excellent stuff. Although I would really like to see those purple ones from the London owners thread in your purple beastie.
I think they are my favourite seat

OP now is a good time for a rear seat delete, since they are now useless anyway

The one set of RS seats I've sat in seemed slightly narrower than pole positions. Other than that iirc there may be a small difference in the shape/pattern of the rear sear shell.

Good luck with the E28's, you'll need it.....I've been there and I'm still trying to find used centres to put on the shelf for the future.

The pattern on the rear shell is different to normal PPs, apart from that they seem identical to me.. I've sat in both.

Ivan, that was a great find... I've been on the look out too but my engine rebuild takes priority right now..

Seats look great. Are these the ones that were on ebay a couple of weeks back from Bath?

Yes, correct-o-mundo - but I wasn't paying what Ryan (the seller) was asking. In my opinion that was crazy money. So I offered what he would have thought was crazy money - pointing out that I really wanted the pink/purple seats and sent some photos of the car they'd be going in and fair play to Ryan he dropped down by a huge percentage. I'll only buy them once, so I will only have to feel the pain once. And hey, life is too short to worry about tomorrow, I live for today.

Cheers Frank, as you know the feeling is very mutual. I'll be expecting a call about my new wheels soon - they really don't suit Betty you know... :-)

The deal was 95% sealed last time I saw you and I was crapping it that it may fall through. So happy it didn't! See you at the next bash - more reason for you to take the Enemy for a spin now (not literally!).

I'm not sure to be honest, but I am sure there's a thread somewhere on the subject.

Good on you mate. I have the same philosophy for things that i want. And such items can always be resold quite easily due to their limited numbers.
