Default Ignition Rotor, Bosch vs Beru

I remember reading on here (and seeing pics) that said Beru distributor caps are to be avoided, only go w/ Bosch.

Does the same hold true for ignition rotors? The Bosch rotor is 5X more expensive than Beru.

Default Bosch vs Beru caps and rotors, have I found a measurement issue?

raising up an old(ish) thread:

I have successfully replaced my dizzy belt as well as the primary shaft lower bearing (long story).

As I was reassembling the rotors and caps (bought new Beru caps to replace my old Bosch items), my spidey senses must have been tingling, as I decided to measure the rotor/cap heights to compare from old Bosch to new Beru. With the rotors pressed firmly onto the shaft tops, I measured from the dizzy lip to the rotor copper swiper. I then measure into the cap, from the lip to the start of the copper spark pick-ups. As far as I can tell, the Beru rotor sits 3mm lower than the Bosch, and this means that the rotor doesn't seem to pass in the path of the copper pick-up, but actually lower. I know arcs and sparks travel diagonal too, but wondered if anyone else has picked up on this?
My temp fix right now is to pull up on the rotor by 3mm to match up with the cap. If that doesn't work, back to Bosch? BTW, I don't think that there is a heavy requirement for the rotor to be pressed and bottomed out on the shaft. It doesn't slip to change the angle any, and the center point spring load is too weak to be pressing it down.

So I reinstalled the dizzy with the Beru caps and rotors. I have the rotors just slightly pulled up from bottoming out on the shafts. Car started first shot and ran well. I'll push the rotors down and try again. So far no issue with Beru.

Bosch every time. Worth paying double the price.
