Thanks Paul and apologies for the lack of photo credit for the google image copyright.

How do I go about getting a nicely done Heuer clock to replace the stock one please?
Actually Tom, the photo credit goes to Ed, who's erm, handiwork (geddit?) is in the photo.

Thanks to Frank for answering the question (apologies, I've been otherwise occupied over the last few days) and Frank also deserves the credit for quite rightly convincing me that the Monte-Carlo is better suited to the 964 interior

I went there after I posted. Their web site sucks *****. Need to email them to see if just the clock face is available.
Don't let the hap-hazard website fool you, Ed is super efficient and a true craftsman.

Good luck,
Paul

Thank you.

The rear window sticker was going to be Dick Lovett as well ( like the one below) but I've decided on the silver 1974 25th anniversary one instead, you can just make it out in this 1970's photo of Nick Faure's real 74 3.0 RS ( in the quarter window)

I've sent Ed Euros 350 plus VAT with an exhaustive list of period looking changes for every gauge including the clock...will keep you all posted on the results. Ed was very helpful.
I've asked that the rev' counter goes up to 11...not an original idea but it always makes me smile thank you Spinal Tap/ Singer

Anyone recommend anyone in the UK to fit the new faces? My Porsche people disagree with the idea, have done this before/ vowed not to do it again.

Car is finished this week

Finally bought some correct Fuchs.

Have decided on graphics and a "less is more" Gulf look...

It's been almost 12 months gestation. This excitement tp ick it up feels better than any other car I've ever bought or ordered. Very pleased with the results and most of all the costs.

I'll do the aircon upgrade in London

Will post photos soon.

Great stuff! Very much look forwards to the pics with the new wheels and rubber.

It's how the car finally sits that will truly finish it's aesthetic value.

Thanks for your help with the period instrument conversion.

It won't be sitting very low...still on standard shocks which I like, I'm trying to fit high profile tyres too so it rubs and looks fat - rather like its owner. I also need to see exactly what condition the Fuchs are in but maybe I will matt black them. We'll see tomorrow.

Sold the 964 Speedster today. Not a nice car in Tiptronic. In fact a fairly pointless car all round. No wonder they didn't sell.

Hi Tomato,

I'm asking Ed to make a rev counter dial that goes up to 11 for mine too, another Singer thing ha!

I'm going to fit my rev counter myself, although Nick at Redtek fitted my Heuer clock face.

Frank (of Black Betty fame) fitted his own dials and has posted a comprehensive set of instructions somewhere here on Rennlist, Black Betty thread might be a good place to start looking ha. Thanks be to Frank

Fantastic stuff, keep it up!

Default Dear fellow Rennlisters, your final help is needed...

I've bought the 7's and 9's fuchs. Three are gloss black centres with polished lips one is plain centred.

What finish do I do?

Options:
1. Satin Black powdercoat, cheap, my favourite but looks like I didn't buy fuchs or show them in a good light. It'll look like my multispokes...

2. Paint the plain one gloss black. Good value but a bit 80's looking, no?

Looks like this ( my Compomotive set)

3. go for a 99% correct dull finish, sand blasted, matt black infills with plain petals as per factory £450 the lot

Name: 3.0rs dull rim.JPG
Views: 2298
Size: 12.2 KB

4. ( very, very unlikely) pay £1800 to have them rebuilt and done 100% like these beauties

Size: 484.3 KB

I reckon option 3....

I do like the satin ( not matt) ...maybe coloured centres a step too far for an old racer look

Personally I like the 'dull' RSR finish, but the satin black would also look good and period correct. IMO can't go wrong either way.
