Default Best place for parts?

I am buying parts for my engine and wanted a second quote. I have sent a list to Pelican but was wondering who else to contact?

I've been using Vertex for many, many years. Almost always the least expensive and good service. No affiliation.

Default Thanks

I have sent lists to Pelican Vertex and Sunset.

That should give me a good idea on best prices.

Thanks everyone

I just did a rebuild on my 91 964. I've bought items from vertex and pelican and also some other vendors. My best advice would be to just continue to shop around. As one may have a good price on one item wherein another has a good price on another. I got my rebuild kit from vertex, but have purchased other parts from other companies. Also I recommend finding someone near that has soft parts readily available. I picked up some O rings and gaskets that I didnt know I needed from someone local or ones that were not in the rebuild kit. Hope this helps and good luck with the rebuild.

When I did mine I used Pelican, Sunset, and EBS racing. All had best prices on certain parts. I really like the service at EBS Racing, very personalized.

If you're shopping price, then Sunset is pretty good. If you need advice, or are in any way going custom or with upgrades, you should call Steve W of RennsportSystems. 503 244 0990. www.rennsportsystems.com

He can put together packages of the right elements that might save you money in the long run.

Ordered a bunch of parts from Sunset this week. Cheaper than Pelican, Sonnen, and Vertex on every part.
RS motor mounts... Sunset = 152.70 ea / Pelican = 185.25
bolts... Sunset = 5.06 ea / Pelican = 9.75
large washer... Sunset = 7.57 / Pelican = 14.50
small washer... Sunset = 1.37 / Pelican = 3.50
RS heater bypass pipe... Sunset = 196.44 / Pelican = 280.25

... plus many others.
Very happy with Sunset
Entire order was about 15 dollars cheaper than Sonnen and hundreds less than Pelican.

I just ordered a clutch accumulator for my 996TT
Sunset = $117
Pelican = $145
Sunset wins most every time on price.

Just hope you don't need a new oil pump. $1283 at Pelican. Ouch!

I have gone with EBS. The communication was excellent and the prices overall were the best.
I guess the end result will be seen is when the parts arrive but so far they have been great.

I cannot fault the others as service and help has been fantastic and Pelican's online catalog is the best around and I would have gone with Pelican for this reason if their prices had been a little better.

Because my shipping cost are high to Australia it is better to source from one location. I would have liked to buy everything in Australia but the price here was double what it was from the States and would have still had to pay freight.

Pelican is pretty much retail price. They are great to deal with but expensive, almost as expensive as the dealer unless you have an wholesale account, then the dealer is cheaper.
