Just doing all the catch up on everyone's toys... Congratulations Frank. Looking very good indeed. Love it when a plan comes together. Betty lives and probably breathes fire. So glad she's gonna be ready. Question is will you? I really hope the arm heals in time.

The dyno is used by Porsche Club GB for all their race cars - no funny business with optimistic read outs.

Twas only a minute chat but atm we're seeing 340+ with a hot engine.
Suspect closer to 350 on open road, cool conditions. Absolute bags & bags of torque low down. Todays plot coming soon.

Nick suspects around a 15hp max increase with the flat slides due to injector location etc at the top end. So this is a very preliminary read out. Once the flat slides are ready the car will go back up and we'll get the final figures.

Edit as I collect my thoughts: Nick says she moves like a rock. That no matter where you are in the rev range she just shunts you in the back and goes with brute force. It's just constant power at all times no waiting till revs build up.

Am very excited to get my impressions and see where we end up with the flat slides....

All in all we'll see how I feel with the way she works - from there we'll asses the whole development and see if we continue developing with different cams etc.

Something tells me that once it's all done - it'll be devastatingly effective/ monstrous.

Way cool Frank.

The power is great, but its the torque everywhere which really makes the big diff - and the throttle response which makes the car such a joy to drive.

The pull out of corners is just way too good. Shame you can't install a tiny clutch/FW kit, but we all have to trade off.

Congratulations!!!

I phoned up the MD of Superchips....

He didn't know your car was downstairs. He went for a wander......

...came back and said it's not as powerful as his new one

Hi Frank,

Fantastic! That's all good news to me

Have a great time at Spa & take it easy with that wrist, for the first lap at least!

Cheers,
Paul

Update:
I'd like some thoughts from the Doc pls.

Ok so here are the dyno plots.

The temp in the dyno cell was 36°C, out on the road 14°C.
Which translates to circa 350hp out on the road.

Torque came in at 358NM!
C4 Transmission loss worked out to 109.7hp. Whereas a C2 35-40hp loss.
Adrian Streather estimates a 28% transmission loss on C4s and 15% on C2s.

Dyno read out coming soon with all the above.

The flat slides will help breathing at the top end.
Oh and it's passed it's MOT.

I don't understand the 212hp to the wheels - as compared to the 321 Bhp.

Wow, great news Frank.....now all you need is a nice road trip to run Betty in!

I'll let you go in front up Kemmel, just to make a nice hole for me to follow in.....thought I better get my excuse in early!

It's saying that 108.2 hp was lost to 'drag' (the green line on the plot) - total losses in the drivetrain, from the clutch all the way to the tires.

If the dyno was done on a rolling dyno then all I care about is the RWHP (and not driveline loss approximations to = what it may or may not be at the crank, IMO/ YMMV etc)....which appears to be 212?

Congratulations Frank and to Nick, that's a lot of work and emotional energy invested to get to this point. I think a celebratory pint of London Pride is definitely in order

There are too many variables to really pass really meaningful judgement based on that plot alone imo. Whatever the numbers say, I suspect will be something like this to drive;

which you'll find out hopefully on Friday when you've had your cast taken off and are making your way at best speed to the channel tunnel
