Default Rear axle strut bushing shot - same as spring plate?

One of my rear axle strut bushings is shot and I'm looking to replace both of them.

Stock Porsche part is around $900 EACH!

I've found on Automotion Weltmeister ERP Spring Plates for $800 for two of them.

My questions are:

Is the Spring Plate a direct replacement for the rear axle strut?

Why are they so expensive? I've seen the ERP Spring Plates listed elsewhere for $800 per unit, so I'm hoping to Dear God that the Automotion listing is not in error, selling two of them for $800.

Any advice or input would be appreciated!

Okay, I answered my own questions.

I ended up ordering the 964 Spring Plates with the dust booties from Tarett Engineering, who had them listed for $767.50 for the pair (with booties).

Out the door, plus two-day shipping was $853 out of San Diego (tax plus $20 shipping).

Crazy that the stock part is $900 for each one.

Sure would appreciate a pictorial if you are going to do the job yourself!

I found a like-new, never installed, set of the ERP spring plates on eBay for $450. Needless to say, I pulled the trigger on them. I'll install them once I accumulate all the parts for my suspension overhaul.

Yeah, I won't be installing myself...I'm having the 90,000 mile service done next week and will have my guy install them. I was quoted as the job taking two hours for both sides.

I'm also getting new tie-rods as they were shot as well, then a proper alignment to tie it all together.

Greenbacks allowing, then I'll be dynoing and rechipping via Steve Wong...which I've been waiting on since last year's engine upgrade involving Euro RS valves, slightly hotter cams and a sportcat. With my cup intake and a G-pipe, I'm hoping to see some measurable gains.

Why in the hell do these parts cost so much? Are the bushings available seperately from the plate?

There was a post here or on PP recently; a guy in Hong Kong had some made locally for cheap. (searching.....)

Here it is. Not much info, but something to go on.

Even at $800 a pair for aftermarket adjustable plates its a huge rip. They must be making 1,000% profit on those. Someone should step up and offer new bushings. Anyone listening?

Yes, just replaced the bushing using the old spring plate. I guess most machine shop can do it.

How about an update, power_up? Everything is good? How far have you driven on the new-made bushings?

So you're the guy who snatched that pair from under my nose! I was going to pull the trigger on those too but did a little extra research, came back and they were gone. Had to go for brand new $750 set

What are the signs of a worm bushing?

Simple visual inspection?

Got any pics of the good and bad versions?

I'm chasing pulling issue that so far is down to tires, but now I'm thinking about this bushing....

7000km after the work. Everything is fine, no undesirable noise noted.

No photo recorded when I done. I did it because I notice the bushes were look like a paste of melted rubber there.
