Mine has a crack in the upper left corner as well. I am a manufacturers representative in MN and one of the companies I have represented in the past was Steinel! They have an automotive repair kit that this video must be for? they have their US distribution center here in Bloomington,MN. If anyone needs more info on their products let me know. i can probably steer you in the right direction for this kit.

Given the cost of the kit one of the more helpful pieces of information might be "Who near me has one?" Would you have access to that information?

Me too. Just say no to crack!

A couple years ago I sold a 964 rear lid . I carefully wrapped it in two blanket and set it in the trunk upside down. Following the 3 hour ride for delivery I unwrap it and the spoiler had cracked during the trip - consequently the buyer backed out. I had the same crack on the right side of my DD 964 spoiler fixed and within 6 months the other side cracked I think the plastic ages it shrinks and get more brittle and the stress eventually opens up a crack or pulls apart the repair.

Looks like I'm lucky. No cracks on mine. Still getting a duck tail.

I have matching cracks on the top left and right near the corners. Both of the cracks appeared within the last 2 years. When the car is cold they are hardly visible. After the car warms up they spread to about .5mm wide. Fortunately they are both in the same locations on opposite sides so they look like they are suppose to be there. It seems like I got a couple of lucky breaks...

This seems to be the most active crack thread on Rennlist. I've just picked up a used spoiler with symmetrical cracks and thinking about how to fix it. I think I might widen the cracks and insert something that hides them but makes them look stock.

yes, and still no reply from the panorama tech guys. Like they never heard of it. Let us know how you work it out.

Mine got fixed with flexible epoxy and melting plastic. Not sure if it will hold up.

If it doesn't, then I will likely have my spoiler torn apart and have that lip made out of carbon fibre (not cheap, but I know a guy).

I believe that those cracks come from the different materials expanding at different rates. Seems a bigger issue when the car is used in warmer climates. Both these points are not validated though.

I picked up a take off in perfect condition with hopes that with proper adjustment it will last- but now I’m almost ready to let that go and pick up an RSA repro instead....

I bought a spare spoiler that had been modded. I could only fit it fixed in place and it still cracked. I think the differential expansion theory is the most plausible one. Given that, I don’t propose trying to fix the crack by joining the parts back together. I’m looking more at a way of making the cracks less obvious to the eye. One way is to make the cracks uniform like they were cut that way. The other is to place a flexible tape over them, either body coloured or black.

As an FYI you can still get replacements.
