Is it common for spoilers to crack here?

Okay, so this is a common problem. And searching shows it's been a problem for a while. Maybe there needs to be a new thread called "Who knows why 964 spoilers crack?" because someone probably does know. Does this happen with 993's too? Maybe one of those guys knows something because they sure know a lot.
Side note: I looked at Ted's spoiler and he actually has 2 cracks both in the upper element. No rub marks though.

Mines cracked. Left of centre half way along. Obviously a common issue. I was looking at getting one of those guys that repairs plastic bumpers to see if they can make a repair on the underside.
