Hi Frank, Sorry to hear of your troubles so soon after getting your car back from the last phase of work done.
Specer has the horizon blue turbo. He came with me to that 964 meet this time last year.
If you do go down the rebuild route be clear about exactly what you want to achieve from the rebuild. Also if stick to ARP stuff where possible eg rod bolts and head studs. Stuff isn`t really any more expensive than other makes and its top stuff. Plus the packaging is bloody cool..![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)
Will follow your progress closely whatever route you decide.

From my understanding:
It seems that a rocker came loose, which would have happened from a miss aligned rocker shaft...
The result being the plating came off, this would explain the debris.
The amount seems to be very little.
The next step we're taking is to flush the engine one more time and replace filter.
From there I'll run the car as normal, whilst paying close attention to abnormal noises.
Peter says that ideally the engine warrants a rebuild, this far into its life, with the way I use it and after this kind of event. But that it can wait until funds allow.
So looks like I got a jail free card and that I'll be doing a rebuild in the not too distant future in order to safe guard the future.
To say I'm relieved at this stage is an understatement.
I'm happy that the impending rebuild should be when I'm ready as opposed to having my hand pushed.
Watch this space.

Phew, doesn't sound too bad. Glad that it wasn't anything too major and that it's still on the road. It would be a shame that considering you'd just done the bodywork that you'd have to sell it because of any major problems.

Sounds surprisingly close to what we were talking about yesterday (well, one of several scenarios we talked about
). As I said on the phone, there are plenty of threads on pelican with people having rocker shafts shuffling their way out (even when they've been correctly fitted in the first place), so it sounds plausible that one may get far enough out to put some wobble in the movement of the rocker.
So, were they able to just clean up and refit the old rocker and shaft then?

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for the overwhelmingly kind support and advice - really kept me sane about it!
I'm just relieved the rebuild will be my decision - if nothing goes wrong again!
Thanks for the chat Dr! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Bloody hell, I'm glad you're not my bank manager! ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
